Accepted into the MHS program!!! Can anyone tell me how this program works? Like how many seats in the incoming class are reserved for students coming out of MHS?!

Me too! im hoping to find out more when I cal tuesday. But from old post I read we had to maintain a 3.3ish(could be higher) gpa and get a 495 to enter the medical school. Also i've read they reserve like 15 spots from the MHS program in the next years class. In short if we do well we have a great chance of matriculating as M1's

Ive read the same too! While on the waitlist i retook the MCAT and got in the 70th% overall. Unfortunately i took the exam in march so the score was not able to be considered for this cycle anymore. im wondering if i enroll in the program if i will need to retake the MCAT while in the program of if they will just allow me to use that score for entrance into the medical school

Hi, I am applying to Meharry next year, and was wondering how you were invited into the MHS program? Did you go to an interview first? Or did they invite you without an interview? did you have to have a certain mcat score?

I applied late the first go around and never got off the waitlist. This cycle i applied very early and interviewed Oct 31st at meharry only to be waitlisted this cycle as well. After being waitlisted I sent them like 4 or 5 new science classes that were A's and told them about my job in the hospital. I'm guessing my med school interview was my mhs interview at the same time. There is no specific mcat or gpa score and for the most part it is at their discretion. My advice is just to apply regularly even if you think your chances are slim and keep working to improve yourself as an applicant each cycle via mcat, diy post bacc, research and stay committed to working with the underserved!!
