The icon next to my "in progress" line changed from a red ! to a green check. Am I correct in thinking that I should expect either an interview or a rejection shortly?

I'd say 1-3 weeks. I'm expecting something by the end of this week or early next week.

Last years thread there was silence till very late in the cycle for some. A few received interviews later on. Its random how they review and re-review. You'll get considered either way. Just set it and forget it!

Went to go confirm I still had a red check after being complete since 7/11 aaaaaand the green exclamation mark was there 😱 last time I checked the portal was 7/21 so no clue when it happened but guess I'll be hearing soon....

Update! It was indeed because I am writing the MCAT Aug 4 :/.. wish they'd consider my current MCAT (510). Only retaking cause Canadian schools..

Wait your red exclamation point was because of that? I'm not retaking and all my stuff is in, but I have a red exclamation point...

I think he submitted a week before you, but it still had the red point. I submitted around the same time you did and stil have the red point. If I get a green point and you don't, then that might mean something is wrong with your app. They are just going through them chronologically.

what does the screening mean...? what the

Website...

An application is considered complete once the Tulane School of Admissions and Student Affairs has received the primary and secondary applications, application fee, MCAT score, and all letters of evaluation. Once an application is complete, the file is read by one or more members of the Admission Committee. One of two actions may result from screening. The applicant may be:

  • INVITED FOR INTERVIEW BY EMAIL, or
  • NOTIFIED OF NON-ACCEPTANCE BY EMAIL
During the screening process the contents of the entire application are taken into account, but at this stage of review the greatest emphasis is placed upon an applicant's academic record and letters of evaluation. Nonetheless, experience shows that students with a broad range of coursework (both science and non-science courses), active participation in college or campus life, and a good record of community service are more likely to be invited for interviews.

Haha, sorry! Posted in the wrong thread

I figured I'd let ya know rather than just ignore it. If I had to answer that, id write about rural and underserved populations and tie that into Indiana. If you don't actually want to do that stuff, I would not apply.

same except complete 7/11
I wonder if those who got rejected also had a green check mark.

I believe so. But when I called they said the green check comes up when you're being screened (by an actual person). So I guess our applications are finally next in line to be viewed! I'm assuming everyone has to have a green check at one point, following which, you can either get an II or a rejection.

Sorry to derail the thread. I noticed your 7 IIs and wanted to congratulate you. You may be holding the current record for the 2016-17 cycle.
