What exactly does being put on hold entail?
So does everyone end up getting this email? Or do some people hear nothing and then get rejected in March/April?They aren't offering you an interview at this time but after reviewing your app they aren't ready to count you out and reject you. It does not necessarily mean you will not get an interview. As you can see, someone above already got off the "hold" list.
That's kinda annoying then. Hoping to get off, but won't hold my breath either.I think everyone gets it, at least I got it last year then got the ban hammer in march.
All of you that interviewed here today looked fabulous! Best of luck to you, and remember that the decision is now out of your hands, so all you have to do is relax and wait.
I don't remember the average, but I know that on my interview day last year they gave us a sheet with the average step score for the school, along with locations that students MATCHed. You could always give admissions a call - I can't imagine it's a heavily guarded secret.Does anyone know the step averages for this school? I'm curious how they prep also.

Does this place send complete emails?
So I mistakenly did not click to have my MD LOR sent from AMCAS, and accidentally clicked on my non science LOR. I emailed the school a while ago and haven't heard back from them. What should I do?
Tucson will read every letter you send them, regardless of how many, if that was what you were worried about. So I mistakenly did not click to have my MD LOR sent from AMCAS, and accidentally clicked on my non science LOR. A few of us got interviews a week after getting that. If you're an AZ resident, your chances are still pretty good, and not terrible if you're not. I think they just send it out after you're in a group of files they reviewed for the next interview dates, and then they consider you again for the next round.just checked my portal:
Dear tuco's revenge,
We welcome your continued interest in the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Tucson. Your application has completed the primary screening phase for an interview invitation. Our medical school is currently unable to invite you to interview. However, we have determined that you are a competitive candidate and you will continue to be considered during this application cycle.
If there are changes to your status, we will communicate with you via email. Our interview season runs from August to February. You may be invited for an interview at any point during this time frame. Final notification of your interview status will be sent no later than March 24, 2017.
So basically, this is what their saying:
"dear tuco, thanks for the donation. all proceeds from your payment will ensure that your rejection letter on March 24, 2017 is very personal, heart-warming, and has the dean's real authentic signature. we thoroughly hope that you enjoy tropical and humid weather, as we believe that you will thrive in an offshore school. goodbye tuco"

Mcdonalds is getting competitive these days. they dont even take CARS scores under 126.I see you're having a successful McApp season.
They might not necessarily be reviewing apps in order.Well if that's the case then we should all have received either an ii or hold if complete 7/22 or earlier.
Anyone complete 7/22 or earlier and have heard nothing?
I agree that not all schools do, but given the reporting in this thread it appears that u of a does. I guess it's possible they don't thoughThey might not necessarily be reviewing apps in order.

Meh. Not how I interpreted the reporting back. It appears they classify holds linearly although is seem to get interviews before oos. Frankly, neither of us really knows for sure though. It's all speculation. And I'm very well aware of how useless speculation is but, sometimes it helps the neuroticness lol
