I don't have a publication per say but I have a manuscript under review (listed it on my app)
My LizzyM is also ~70-72, and I'm OOS and received the secondary a week ago.

I do have over 2500 hours of research experience though and pretty good volunteering experiences.

My stats aren't cookie cutter high though

I have a 3.85 and a 510 MCAT so my MCAT isn't crazy high for SDN standards haha

Got a secondary on Friday. 521/3.97.

OOS technically, but I go to school at a UC near UCSF.

I've called UCSF's admissions offices before, I remember them telling me they don't care terribly much about your MCAT score compared to other factors. They said they've always been that way. I think they said they really look at GPA, work experience, and awards/honors. But also this was just one person's word over the phone, /shrugs.

Three minutes after AMCAS opened on 06/07 LOL.
That being said, I know two people from my university who applied later in the day than I did on 06/07 and were verified a few days after me, they both received their secondaries 1-2 days before I did. Their order is odd.

Secondary received this evening! Non-trad with an elementary ed background, 3.8 cGPA, 3.93 sGPA, 4.0 postbacc GPA, 518 MCAT, and zero research experience. I was Shocked, considering my lack of research.

So no, they certainly don't screen for publication!

If they screened for publications, pretty sure they would filter out at least half of the applicant pool... including me 🙄
 
Also received a secondary last evening! Verified 6/15, OOS, 3.92/521. Last secondary I was waiting on, so felt pretty good until I realized that I actually need to finish them...
 
Has anyone verified on or around June 29th received a secondary invite from UCSF?

I got a secondary with a lizzy M of 68-69 so perhaps they look at something specific. My ECs aren't anything particularly special either.
 
Verified on 7/1, IS, have a secondary from every single UC but this one:shrug: I think I might get hit by the screen here, LizzyM 72-73, not much research

I am in the same boat. I received secondaries from every UC except UCSF.

Debating about whether to call the admissions department but don't feel like nagging them for information...

I think it's too early still...they probably get hundreds of calls every day from clueless premeds 😳

When did you submit your primary app and when did you get verified?

I agree; it might be just a little too early. UCSF seems to have one of the most stringent secondary screens around... 😉
 
It's been 4 weeks since I was verified, guess I got prescreened 🙁
 
Still plenty of time! Like I said above, I was verified on 6/15 and didn't receive the secondary until 7/19, so almost exactly five weeks in my case!

Please don't be discouraged. The last time I applied to UCSF I received a secondary close to the end of the year. I believe they have two reviewers. If the first reviewer doesn't select you for an interview, the second reviewer looks at it and get to make a decision. I am stating this from memory, so correct me if I have misstated something.

i listed my manuscript under review in my research activities slot- I was afraid of putting it in its own "publications" tab because it wasnt accepted yet i hope they find it!

I wouldn't worry too much. UC's seem to be handing out secondaries at a random schedule. All my friends who were verified at similar times with similar stats got UCLA while I'm still waiting. Don't read into it too much.

can't people technically still get secondaries into december? like we expect to get them ~1 month or so after verification but we can still technically get them way later right? I know it might not seem ideal but still...maybe just trying to calm my frazzled self ha

Yeah. I have a friend who didn't get UCSF until January last year.
 
my stats aren't stellar but i have about 900 hours of research and a first author abstract presentation at a national conference so i hope that will help me get me a secondary here!
