II! But wow, only two available interview dates?

Take one fast! The faster you interview the faster you'll get in, and the better your chance of getting your first choice campus selection.

Also got in yesterday, IS. Anybody know if scholarships are sent with the acceptance letters usually?

Anyone Final decision on 10/13 + Additional correspondence who hasn't gotten anything in the mail yet? I live on the east coast and I am hoping for a packet today!

I haven't, I am OOS. Hopefully we get something soon. Goodluck

okay interviewed on 10/12 in chicago and current status is "Decision Pending" but supposedly the ADCOM meets the third thursday of every month (aka yesterday) so does this mean I'm waitlisted? At the interview they said we would know our status before thanksgiving and the next meeting (if the person who posted before saying the adcom meets every third thursday is right) would be the week before thanksgiving. Am I being premature?

Was also hoping to see an update today as well.

I'm guessing if they meet every month, the next meeting would be 11/10, or a month from when these recent acceptances got their final decisions (10/13). Interviewed October and we were told we might hear back before Halloween, but that doesn't seem like that'll be the case. Unless there are people here who did get a "final decision" status today.

Edit: just called and they said early october interviewees would hear back end of this month / beginning of november. I'm wondering if they really do only meet once a month.

So there's hope then! Right?

Hello everyone, I just got an interview invitation for UIC; however the only available spots are for January. This is my #1 school choice, and I am a bit worried that this interview date means my chances are extremely slim. Does anybody knows if this date means I will probably be waitlisted?

So there's hope then! Right?

Seems so, I've been pretty nervous about this too since it was only one of 2 interviews I've received and I've gotten rejected after my other. Looked at last year's thread and gathered this info:

- At least for last year, adcom met every month (3rd Thursday), and portal was updated next day.
- If you are still at "decision pending", it means that you will be reviewed continuously until May, after which you will be put on wait list or rejected.
- Furthering above statement, there was at least one case of somebody who had "decision pending" for 4 months before getting an acceptance. So yes there is hope even if you are "decision pending" after adcom meetings, though it seems pretty painful to have to wait for 1 month intervals.
- Illinois overbooked matriculants last year, so I'd assume there was little waitlist movement.

Already, we know that the 3rd Thursday thing may not apply this cycle? This month, adcom met on 2nd thursday, and I'm told that early october interviewees would hear back end of October / beginning of november, which makes me think maybe they are going to start meeting twice a month? All anxious speculation. I need to get off this site lol

Lol, we are in similiar situations! I just got waitlisted at the only other school I've interviewed at so I understand. It would make sense that they're meeting at some other time than every third Thursday of the month, I doubt they would lie to if you called. Plus a two week turnover (one week for me) after being interviewed would be fairly fast for them to meet about us and make a decision. Like they said, end of october and beginning of november we can start worrying lol. Agreed, this site gives me anxiety

how long did people hang out at the Applicant in Process stage before getting one of them there interview invites I keep hearing so much about. Just switched from Application in progress to applicant in process and trying to gauge how much longer I have to wait to see what happens.

I'm guessing that it can be highly variable. I've literally had that status since, August 10th.

II this Thursday. By the time I got around to call, the only date available was the first week of January. Would it be really annoying to call the admission office every once in a while to see if any earlier slots have opened up?

II today!

@CoffeeismyATP Same here, 1/9 was the only date available. I'm interviewing in the area in early December and wondering if they'd be responsive to a request for an earlier date.

II... applied MSTP but did not specify MSTP in email.... should I assume it is MD/PhD invite as well?

Did you ever find out if the interview was for MD/PhD or just MD? I'm in the same boat. Got the interview invite today but no word about MSTP.

Any status changes for people who have interviewed? Still at "decision pending", interviewed 10/**.

Was told we'd hear back before halloween, so I'm curious to see if adcom has made any final decisions for others.

Still decision pending as well, interviewed 10/12

Has anyone heard about campus placements yet?

Is it too late to call and say I haven't gotten a secondary?

I hope I haven't been forgotten about.

I've been "Applicant in Process" since early August.

I wonder if my file is getting attention, being handled, debated. Or if it's sitting in a pile somewhere. Oh, to be on the inside and know these things.

Last year, I applied late due to my MCAT, so when I called to check after what seemed like a long time, they indicated that. This year, I applied as early as I could... And...

Don't wanna be pushy, just wonderin' what's up.

Right there with you! I gave up my Illinois residency two years ago, but was hoping that my 25+ years as a resident might get me gently slide over towards the IS pile lol. Guess not.....

Do you guys think that the admissions committee is meeting the 2nd Thursday of each month based on the acceptances so far this cycle?
