Are people from October and November still waiting on status updates since the Thursday adcom meeting? I still have nothing 🙁

I'm still waiting. Someone else posted that, though decisions were made, status pages will update through this week. If you're still Decision Pending afterward, it means you'll be reviewed again in the next month.

For those looking forward to their interview: the interview was very relaxed at Peoria! You just walk into the main building and tell the front desk staffed with a security guard your name. They hand you a folder with all of the information including your interview times, places, and people and also a name tag. You sit down in a lobby, eat some lunch, and then get pulled into a nearby lecture room where you get some history and general overview. Then you go on a tour for an hour, and a student will follow your group. The student will show you where you interview. After you finish your two interviews. You're done. This was a very relaxed and stress-free environment. Don't worry! Just bring yourself and perhaps a pen! Otherwise if you scheduled it.. you're good!

For those with the Final Decision status... I don't think I can make it... SNAIL MAIL!

Waiting kills... Thanksgiving doesn't even sound fun. I only care about getting that letter! Med school applications kill a year! We thinking Friday? Anyone got opinions when to see this fat packet? (Optimistic hehe)

Someone already accepted said they received their acceptance the thursday after their status had updated

Hi, I'm applying next cycle and just wondering - does UofI still accept students through EDP? When I checked MSAR, it listed 0, but that didn't seem right. Thanks!

I don't think so. I know there was one person who was very frustrated having chosen to apply EDP this year. Please search the forums for more details before you commit to EDP here.

Why are you cautioning against doing EDP?

So how many people who interviewed in October/early November are still waiting for a status change?

Why are you cautioning against doing EDP?

In addition to what I have mentioned already, applicants to EDP are notified Oct 1st. If you don't get in, it may be too late to apply to other schools after that. All I'm saying is to make sure you know what you are signing up for and to learn from others' experiences.

ACCEPTED 😀 omg, so happy! Found the acceptance packet in my mailbox yesterday, after returning home from Thanksgiving break: the absolutely best bit of snail mail in a long time.

fwiw, my portal changed either 11/17/2016 or 11/18/2016, the acceptance letter was dated 11/21/2016, the envelope was dated 11/22/2016, and arrived either 11/25/2016 or 11/26/2016. See post #537 in this thread for additional details (residency, interview date, etc.)

With sending back the preference card and all: Has anyone tried to speed it up by liking doing first class or sending it by FedEx or UPS?

Further how long does it normally take to hear back of your placement site?

I was also accepted this weekend! Portal Change on 11/17, Package received on 11/25.

Anyone that interviewed at the Chicago campus in the PM session, were you able to find parking? They suggested two places to park, but I have had a problem finding spaces in PM sessions with other interviews

Also with the CastleBranch (CB) thing! Does everyone have the 10 panel drug test in their to-do list?! I don't understand that website at all.

Yea and its says we do a 6-panel drug panel in M2 or M3 year... (Sorry it sounds bad that I'm worried about this; just don't want to miss something)

Does yours have in the "to do" section: 10-panel drug panel test? Because technically mine was due yesterday. But I got the acceptance package on Friday, so no idea how they expect me to turn around that quick over the weekend to get one.

I think the due date was automated to be whenever you created the account or got verified. I just looked and my due date was like right at the time I opened the account

Gotcha. So it's basically a pretty risky thing to do. Thanks for letting me know what you thought!

Do all those accepted mind sharing a brief stat/app summary? Thank you! Getting ready to apply next cycle. Any tips you have would be great, too.

Has anyone else not gotten their campus placement yet? I was accepted last month and immediately sent in the papers, but haven't gotten anything since.

Would you go to an interview at Einstein if you had an acceptance at UIC? In state at UIC. Also want surgical residency I think.

Okay what on earth is going on with this CastleBranch thing? I have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing here. It looks like the drug panel isn't required of us, but it's on my to-do list. Furthermore, there is nothing else that I seem to have to do here. Help lol?

MSTP II today!! 🙂 Cancelling my MD interview first thing tomorrow morning, so for anyone looking to schedule for an earlier date, my 1/9 slot will be opening up!

Can anybody speak of the interview at Peoria campus?

It was really chill, to be honest. You go in, get your folder from a security guard, chat with other interviewees for a bit, watch a presentation for about 45 minutes, and then you break off for a tour. After the tour, you have one interview with a student, and then one interview with a pair of faculty. My interviewers were two rather elderly gentlemen who were extraordinarily kind. I kind of knew just from that interview that I was probably going to get in, and I did, haha.

Haha congrats! How'd you know from the interview?

In my pre-enrollment requirements on my status page it says that they don't have my transcript. Anyone else see this on their page? Do I have to send my transcript to AMCAS again? Do I have to send it straight to UIC?

Can anybody speak of the interview at Peoria campus?
The Peoria campus has two 30 minute interviews. One will be with two faculty members in a little room by the library. They were both MDs for me and retired I think or close to retiring! Haha! But they were more than joyous to speak with and convinced me that Peoria isn't a terrible option as a campus choice. The second interview is with an M3 or M4 and mine was relaxed. They have more of a prompt and ask ethics questions. Both only have your essays to know you by. I recommend being honest. They are people!

Did anyone call and ask what we need to do about the 10-panel drug screen? It's showing up in my to-do list on Castle Branch
