2016-2017 University of Louisville Application Thread

How does the University of Louisville feel about community college transfer credits for pre-reqs and are online labs accepted?

Before anyone jumps on me, I have only taken my Physics I credit online through a community college. It was a necessary move in order to avoid paying insane overage charges at my university for taking 20 credit hours last semester. I am considering taking my Gen Chem II credit in the same way in order to keep up with my course sequence, but only if it isn't prohibited or frowned upon. Thanks!

Secondaries should be coming out from here, for anyone who is interested to know. I have an MCAT retake scheduled for Saturday and I just received an e-mail from ULSOM saying that I won't get a secondary until they have my new MCAT score (which I am very pleased to hear).

Secondary received! OOS, with primary verified on 6/9.

Holy ****, that's some good looking out. I definitely had 8 essays that I was trying to fluff up to a respectable word count.

Yeah, I wrote mine like that too and realized when I tried to copy/paste them into the spaces last night, lol

Hey Everyone,

For the "Experience Section" of Secondary it asks for Employer and Title. Does it mean title of the employer or the title of our position?

Has anyone submitted this that knows whether it's 500 characters WITH spaces or without? I don't believe it says on the instructions.

Holy crap. I'm thinking about not filling out this application simply because of the experiences section. I can't fill those out anymore.

Might be a dumb question, but I'm guessing we fill out the experience section like how we filled out AMCAS and resumes? So no need to put down all the employment, extracurriculars, etc. we've ever done in college and high school? Also, it's weird how they want high school experiences...

What are you II receiver's stats looking like?

Anyone try to log in for their secondary after two weeks? They said my password would expire but I totally forgot to log in within two weeks and just tried to login and it looks like it's still working? Should I call them to make sure? Hell, is it even worth applying at this point late in the cycle?

why would you not apply? It is not too late in the season. If you can get your secondaries in by the end of August, you still have good chances.

I wonder if this school gives IS consideration before going to OOS applicants...I really like this school, but I'm from the East Coast =/

As a state school, Louisville does focus primarily on in-state students. However, the 2020 class has over 20% OOS. For a state school, this is fairly high. I know when I was applying, many state schools were accepting 5% or less. They may look at IS first, I'm not sure. But there's tons of time left! Good luck!

How are you all answering "How well did your high school prepare you for college?"

I went to a public school that basically got taken over by the state due to poor performance on test scores. It wasn't the greatest preparation for college, but I also feel it would be looked down upon to talk negatively about it.

I was in the same situation and was honest and said it didn't prepare me well. If they ask and don't like an honest answer then we can't do much about that.

II this morning. complete a little over a week ago. had my interview scheduled within 30 seconds of getting the invitation lol

II here today as well! LizzyM ~73, IS, complete a little over a week ago (quick turnaround!!!). Dates were available throughout September.

IS and completed 7/11, however sill a whole bunch of nada. Oddly though, both OOS schools I applied too, both of which are very good programs, have offered me II already.

How long did it take people to get secondary applications after submitting their AMCAS? I am awaiting verification and was submitted on 9-8. I know it'll take a while but was curious. IS as well.

AMCAS verified 8/26. Secondary received 8/29. OOS

Not bad! I hope verification doesn't take a really long time. I'm expecting a couple weeks at least.
