For those who have interviewed...any contact from UMASS?

Holy Moly just accepted. Interviewed Mid-Sept.
Congrats!

None of the IS applicants I have talked to have heard anything from Umass (and really there haven't been many IIs reported on this site), so hopefully this is a good sign that there may be some movement in the near future.

Is there some significance regarding 9/22?

Also super congrats @Weaver.be !! That's amazing news!
9/22 was my interview date so I was hoping that acceptances hadn't gone out to people who interviewed that day because that'd be a bad sign for me.

Hey Everyone!
Has anyone who interviewed on 9/20, heard anything back from admissions?
Thanks.

Has anyone interviewed for PURCH yet? How was it?

I was in the first group to interview for PURCH. There were only 6 of us, but they said they would normally do 12 and just wanted to do it with a smaller group the first time. It was a little bit more relaxed than the regular mmi just because there weren't so many people there. We also got to have lunch with the heads of the PURCH program as well as some of the department heads of the hospital which was pretty cool.

Any suggestions on getting to Worcester from Logan International? Is it better to stay in Boston overnight and make my way to to Worcester in the morning or just go straight there? 12/19 interview so I'm sure there will be lot's of holiday travel...

There's a train (MBTA Commuter Rail) that goes to Worcester from South Station in Boston. It runs every hour or so, and takes around an hour to reach Worcester. Then you can take a bus from the station in Worcester to UMass.

You can get on the Silver Line bus service for free at Logan, and it will take you to South Station. You then go upstairs into a room with a big schedule board, shops, etc. You can buy commuter rail tickets on the train (but they'll charge you a few extra bucks), print them out at the little kiosks, or download the mbta app.

Had my interview today. I absolutely loved the school and had a fantastic experience. Can't share any details on the MMI, but I will say the scenarios were all straightforward (not attempts to trip you up) and the interviewers were all very friendly and welcoming. I definitely would love to go to this school.

does everyone who interviews here hear back a few weeks later?

my interview date is 12/19 (lol long way to go) but was just curious 😛

Has anyone been rejected from here? Still stuck in silence

Same. I have talked to many past applicants who stated that they didn't hear back from Umass until quite late in the cycle. My feeling is that they are very slow at reviewing applications (the individual who got an interview invite today was complete 9/1) and will catch a lot of people on re-review later in the cycle. Also, judging by this thread (which obviously isn't 100% accurate), it seems like there has been a pretty even split between IS and OOS IIs, which is a little surprising considering there are five times as many IS spots in the class. I know UMich saves most of their later interview dates for IS applicants, maybe Umass does the same.

Hoping you're right🙁

I haven't looked through the entire thread, but does anyone know if they interview OOS way later than everyone else? Mine is scheduled for February. I know of some programs that have specific interview dates for OOs

I'm OOS and I have my II scheduled for Nov 10th

Sorry if someone has already asked this...how does UMass communicate acceptances?

I got 01/05/2017, not sure why it's too far away. Maybe it's a specific date for OOS applicant only. Good luck to you too 🙂

I have an II scheduled for the same day, and I'm IS. Good luck!

II just a couple of days ago! Super stoked! OOS 3.83, 505; graduated in 3 years, ECs are decent; interesting enough, the only school by sister got an II from last year was this one, so that's pretty neat!
