Anyone having trouble signing onto the portal? I've tried on different browsers but it won't let me! Just keeps saying "You've been logged out"

I’m having the same problem.

Anyone get login stuff from UNMC yet? I want to fill everything out before going back to school haha.

They eventually send a letter in the mail with a tentative schedule, it says credentials will be emailed out in late January or February.

Letter status changed to received, which means the committee is reviewing apps. Good luck everyone

Letter status changed from "waiting" to "received"!!! Interviewed 9/29

I was also able to finally log in and I noticed my letters are also "received". I interviewed 10/13.

I imagine there will be many hearing some exciting news in the coming weeks so best wishes to you all! Anyone have any idea when we can expect the next wave of acceptances?

Has anyone heard of anyone receiving a rejection yet?

Nope! Last year I didn't hear of my rejection till March 14 or so.

It depends when you interviewed though. They said they let you know either way once your app has been reviewed

I have a feeling some decisions will be mailed over the next week. Good luck everyone!
I feel Friday is the day. Good Luck everyone.FYI I know someone who got a 500 and was accepted early admission. Also a very reliable source received a letter from admissions office stating that they are aware of the 8 point drop in the MCAT average since last year and to please encourage your students to apply anyway. I hope tis makes everyone feel a bit more confident. They even mentioned that they will be giving a more holistic look at the applicants this year so all those extra things will offset a lower score and as we know IS is most important.Hope this makes everyone feel a bit more calm. Also 40 students have already received ED , plus one girl received a 4 year scholarship from the HS program, and 1 is deferred from last year. Plus in December 7 people received acceptances. That leaves 77 slots left. FYI Last interview date was 12/8 so they are all done interviewing.
126 acceptances

40 early decision ( 60 applied)
1 special scholar student guaranteed
7 accepted december 2017
1 deferred from 2016-2017 cycle
TOTAL 49 126-49= 77 slots left

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!

How do you know those numbers? Specifically the 5 accepted in December one? PM me if you'd like. Also I have friends that interviewed on 12/15 so I think that was actually the last interview date, not that it matters.

I’m all for positive vibes but I think it’s good to be prepared for it to work out either way. I applied early decision and was deferred to the normal pool and I have a 508 MCAT and there is nothing wrong with the rest of my application. I’m hoping to get accepted but you just never know. I just don’t want someone to read a post where someone says that someone was accepted with a low MCAT and then think they are golden. It’s not that simple and in a lot of ways it’s totally random. There are also a ton of rumors out there.

Where are you getting any of these stats? These are extremely specific and this kind of information isn't just floating around...

Also the “8 pt Mcat drop” sounds bogus. Avg accepted MCAT in ED this year was 510 and I know that for a fact. So based on that someone from admissions wouldn’t be mailing people saying MCATs were low and to apply.

I have heard that in general the MCAT scores from people who took it in 2017 were down 8 points in Nebraska, but that was referring to applicants, not accepted. So I'd believe the average accepted is still competitive at 510 like you say. How do you know that information though?

When I was deferred I asked and was told.

On another note, has anyone heard of an acceptance letter in the year 2018 yet?

I am not in the habit of making up lies. 1) That info I posted about scores and a letter urging students with lower scores to apply was sent to all UNL schools advisors. I saw the letter with my own eyes. 2) It's 5 people that interviewed period. Not interviewed in december, were accepted in december. Go back and count this thread only 4 pages total and you will see 5 postings 3) The scores being 8 points lower were not accepted students. If you stopped for one second given that 90% of applicants have not heard a verdict you would have figured that out. Don't you all worry I will not post anymore about anything .Before accusing someone of anything try checking your sources out. I was trying to make people feel better. I am done. And yes someone was accepted ED with a 500. You will all have to wait till the stats come out to see that. I have no time for haters.

Uhh I can confirm there are more than 5 acceptances. Source: Me and three of my friends have been accepted to UNMC, none of who use SDN.

I received a phone call this morning. My packet is supposed to come in the next few days

Area code 402?

I may be getting mixed up with previous years threads, but I find it interesting that people don't seem to be receiving uniform communication methods of their acceptance: mail, phone, or email. Am I wrong?

Yes 402. Good luck to everyone still waiting!

Yeah, I have noticed the same thing, Now I have to be constantly checking my email, mail and phone. Haha.

Haha right? I have to check my mail, my parents mail, my email and phone now!
It’s definitely been a process. Last year was horrible getting rejected. Then getting deferred from ED and waiting since September to hear anything else. Idk what I’m gonna do with all of my free time now lol

Is it reasonable to assume that since I have not been accepted and there has been tons of acceptance letters sent, that I will be getting rejected at some point in the near future, or are there a lot of acceptances left to be sent out?

I spoke with admissions on the phone and they said that the committee meets weekly and that you are assigned to a meeting already (but they can’t tell you which) but when you are reviewed they will inform you of their decision that same week. So I don’t know how they assign you dates to be reviewed by the committee, it might be random or not. But if you have not heard anything then you have not been reviewed yet.

So, you're saying there's a chance 😉
