Honestly I would wait. Someone might be hacking when they realized seton wasn’t sending secondaries. Why would they make us change our AMCAS PW and have so many problems with multiple emails and the word count? They might have our account info or just get our secondary fees from the website.

Iono. I’ve been scammed one too many times to just do whatever they tell me to do. Especially when there are this many problems.

I would call admissions office before doing anything.

agreed, im waiting for someone to call and then pass it along here, I guess I can get started on the prompts though :/
 
I chose to create an account and got an email from ‘[email protected]’ to reset my password, and the footnote said it was sent from AMCAS... why would they be getting involved in my password reset for a secondary portal? Furthermore, AMCAS sends emails from [email protected]. Also, the secondary format is super similar to AACOMAS primary portal.

Other MD schools use the liaison portal, for instance Rutgers RWJ.
 
it was weird for me because I got that AMCAS email too but when I clicked the link it took me to Robert Wood Johnson secondary app so I tried using the same username/password that I did for that and it worked. I guess maybe because they use the same system for the app?? Idk it was weird but it worked
 
I got into the secondary after resetting password.... tried to call admissions and there is no phone number and the security office that I got pushed to doesn't even have a contact for them

Just FYI admissions was not really reachable by phone last cycle. Email is everyone’s best bet. I still don’t think they have their own number yet but I could be wrong. Last time, I was transferred across 6 departments before I ended up at the voicemail of someone related to the med school
 
anyone else having trouble logging in? im putting in my AMCAS account username/password but it says its incorrect...
 
Guys this is so sketch, and the email I feel is way too brief compared to others. I’m out.
 
update: spoke to AMCAS, they say that it is "legit" and "fine" that we had to change our passwords. honestly not sure what is going on
 
and why is the portal logo colored but its not on their school website??
 
Can someone please call admin or email them and let us all know what’s going on? Please?
 
I got in after changing my password a couple times, interesting thing though is that ask if you are a reapplicant even though last time there wastn even a secondary. Also you have to mail a check to them no online portal pay.

specifically, was it the secondary that was legit or the email from AMCAS to change your password

o this sounds super sketchy. not touching this one until it gets settled.
 
The word counter is throwing me off too. I'm hoping they meant 500 words and not characters. Are you guys sticking with words?
 
When I saw that their secondary actually requires effort on my part:

they said both and that many places use third party websites and that the email from liasoncas is legit.. I just still feel it is weird that it was signed off by AMCAS
 
Both Robert Wood Johnson and Rutgers New Jersey Medical School use this website. Its different than alotta schools but pretty sure its legitimate.
 
Wait I was able to log in using my liasoncas password, not my amcas password...I really don't think this is a scam.
 
Guys it’s not a scam lol I know a few schools that use the same format like USUHS.

Unfortunately, it is only allowing you to enter 500 characters instead of 500 words. We are in the process of disabling this activity on the Applicant Gateway. Please do not submit the secondary application on the Applicant Gateway. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. To alleviate this issue we have created a new way to submit your secondary application"

It is different from the liasoncas website....

I don't like that they are just taking forms with unverified AMCAS IDs. What happens when/if they get two with the same name and ID?
