What is the most important social issue confronting the health of disadvantaged communities and what would be your first steps to address this issue?

In what way will graduating from UCLA PRIME and obtaining a master's degree enhance your career in health care or health services for disadvantaged communities? (If you are considering a specific master’s degree (e.g. MPP, MPH, MBA, etc.), please incorporate your graduate degree plans or aspirations into your answer)

Describe the manner in which your experiences demonstrate your understanding of, and commitment to, underserved communities.

What are your greatest strengths and your greatest challenges as you approach medical school?

What is your most memorable experience as it relates to working with vulnerable populations?

2000 characters each

Good luck to everyone applying!

by the way anyone know if this is sent to everyone who gets a secondary and chose PRIME on the primary or is this secondary screened as well?

Do people applying to PRIME get considered for DGSOM later than regular DGSOM applicants (if they don't get accepted to PRIME)? In other words, does your application go exclusively to PRIME first, then DGSOM? Interested in PRIME-LA Westwood if that makes a difference. Thanks!

have secondaries already been sent for this year? has anyone else gotten it?

Hi, I actually got my PRIME secondary along with my regular MD secondary about a month ago. I assumed it was standard that it was included with my secondary (however I could be wrong about this).

Same here. I think it is standard, but not everyone receives it

It seems like the UCs are rather slow this year as compared to last few years. Maybe they have gotten more holistic than before and so require more time to review apps before sending out secondaries. Whatever it is, I am sure there will more to come soon.

Well, that's what I want to believe lol.

Received secondary today with PRIME supplement included, does anyone know the amount of people that receive a secondary? I know it’s different than the Regular MD group.

I feel underqualified for UCLA, so I am wondering if UCLA PRIME just lost my application or what LOL. I am surprised I haven't been rejected yet. The neuroticism is high today 😛... I am trying to not get my hopes up, but this program is so cool and I would be more than honored to be part of it
I was complete late August (10 days after getting the secondary)

Don't get worried just yet! UCLA PRIME applicants don't hear back until early December. Best of luck to you 🙂

Do UCLA PRIME and UCLA/Drew PRIME admissions committees talk to each other? I just got a secondary from Drew on the 21st, saying that the secondary is due on the 22nd. I'm wondering if the short turn around time is because someone at UCLA PRIME showed their list to the UCLA/Drew PRIME folks?

They gave you one day?! I hope you pre-wrote

you can request an extension according to their website

II for PRIME-LA on 11/28, complete 8/26
Also,
May I ask what are the dates available? They are early to send out II this year. Wondering if they also want to finish PRIME interviews by Dec as well.

looking at previous threads it appears as if they send all of the IIs at once

Well, now the hope is to get on that waitlist and pray for someone to decline their II 😉. Seriously just honored to have been invited to submit a secondary here. We only need one acceptance and I pray we all get one by end of this cycle!

Congrats to those with II! Are yall IS?

All at once? over how many days?
I have heard nothing but silence

Not sure...might e-mail them tomorrow and ask.

yeah looking at previous threads someone cited an applicant pool of over 1000, with 200-250 secondaries and around 80 II.

One thing that I noticed in the email they sent out was that they started with "Good evening PRIME-LA candidates!" They did not have an individualized email with my name, which makes me think that they sent out all the invites at once. They are giving us until December 3rd to respond, so if people decline the interview it's possible they may send out more invites at that time.

Has anyone gotten confirmation of their interview dates yet?

Just received it! Also, here's some important info for folks who may still be waiting to hear about II for PRIME-LA:

"If you need to cancel your interview with PRIME-LA for any reason please email ***** upon reaching your decision to cancel (no later than January 1st). This way we have the opportunity to offer an interview to a qualified and willing candidate."

Received an e-mail that my application has been moved to the MD program an hour ago

Has anyone gotten a response post interview? it seems there was a wave of responses sent out to general Geffen this weekend.
If I remember correctly, we were told we might hear back early march?

Ah I'm sorry about the unnecessary anxiety! I had called the admissions office, but I called them today and they said decisions would come within the next two weeks :/
