Has anyone contacted the office of admissions about not receiving a secondary? I also received the confirmation of receipt of my primary at the end of July and have since heard nothing.. starting to get worried

I was verified 8/7 and have not heard anything. I was thinking about emailing in the next few weeks if i still have nothing.

I think they are still reviewing. I posted earlier with the same concerns. I was verified 7/31, worked with UCDSOM, have a LOT of hours working with underserved communities (and not through typical pre-med EC's). I think very few or no one from our dates have received a secondary yet.

So emailed today about my status (verified 8/3, no secondary) and received response that my application was still under review. BUT, then I looked through last year's thread and saw that many people who had not received secondaries in a timely manner where eventually rejected pre-secondary....in January 🙁🙁

But last year didn't have the tech glitch that we had this year so I think we might be ok. Like I said I haven't seen that many people in our dates that received secondaries so they're probably still reviewing and sending a batch out in the next 2 weeks.

Edit: Looking back on this thread some of the recent secondaries were people verified on 7/10 barely getting sec on 8/23. Some people received one sooner (prob stats/EC's and geographic auto screens).

I am also verified in the same time, and have not received a secondary yet. I have strong ties to NorCal and the UCDSOM area. I wouldn't give up this early, it's only been a month since the apps were sent to them.
 
for those who have gotten an interview so far did your application status change at all or did any change happen in the portal?
 
With anyone with an interview, are you seeing any open dates besides Sept. 14th and Sept. 21st? Seems weird there is nothing available after
 
II today LM 75 complete date 08/13

But I can't make any of those dates in September :'( Can anyone see interview dates available in Oct? Do any of you know if they will open up October interview slots later on?

Gotta keep those hopes up. UC Davis is amazing and it would be an honor to go here for medical school. I am verified on 8/20 and still waiting for a secondary. I am positive they still have some more to send out and we might be the lucky few to receive one. Think positive 😀
 
Still no secondary. Verified 8/9, LM 69-70, IS, no significant ties to NorCal. Received a secondary at every other school I applied to, except this one and UCSF (which I wasn't expecting anyway). Gonna try to stay hopeful because it doesn't look like anyone else verified on/near my date has received anything yet. It's just frustrating because this school is one of my top choices... *sigh*

I emailed them because I also can't make the September dates and they said they should be opening up more dates once the September ones fill up!
 
Any 9/7 interviewees care to share their experience? 🙂 Have an interview in a couple weeks
 
I hope they don’t go in order because I was complete July 30th and still haven’t heard back
 
Verified 7/24. Haven't received a secondary since their initial confirmation email.

You are not alone! I am expecting another wave of UCD secondaries soon. The wait has been nervous. Let's hope they will show us some love!

If you don't mind me asking, have you gotten any other UC secondaries that you applied to? Feel free to PM if you need to.

Ok, but seriously what the hell? AMCAS verified early June, LizzyM of ~80, and still haven't gotten the secondary... I am just super confused what is causing it to take this long? I'm glad that secondaries are still going out, but getting it this late in the game feels like it is setting us up at a disadvantage.

Take it easy. Given the poster's comments it looks like UCD is reviewing primary apps without chronological order. Not sure if you are aware but UCD is known for screening for high mission fits before stats. They also had a technical glitch earlier so not sure if that caused a delay. I think no pre-secondary rejection now is good news meaning they still consider you for a secondary.
 
Just received a secondary this morning, too. Are they giving them out in masses now?

So I think they already sent secondaries to everyone they wanted in the first waves and are now just sending secondaries to the rest of us.
 
Got a secondary here too. LM 67, verified 7/31. Alumni and EC’s match the mission.

wow your comment made me feel really sad for some reason. but i also want to add that i think the UC med schools usually send secondaries to 40-60% of the applicants so maybe there's still hope for some of us 🙂
 
Verified end of June, still nothing. I’d rather the rejection at this point :smack:

OOS now but grew up in NorCal

Do you guys think not picking any of the pathways will put me at a disadvantage? I am interested in primary care but I do not want to commit to anything yet without experiencing other fields.

No it absolutely does not put you at a disadvantage. I believe the pathways are used post admission and wont affect your admission to the school. Do not worry I think it’s fine not to apply to a pathway.
