UTMB hasn't sent out any emails confirming that they received your application have they?

Have anyone sent their Casper score to UTMB or are u waiting for their email?

They told me to wait on sending it since they don't know how it will be used yet

Odd question, but by looking at the msar it seems that utmb is very focused on applicants with a high gpa, anyone know why?

All Texas schools are-
But they seem way more biased to a high gpa favoritism. They have the highest gpa of matriculated students behind Baylor but a low mcat median in comparison (508). Maybe they think gpa is the big determinate of success, just wondering why

I talked to an adcom and he told me that they favor gpa because it is over 4 years instead a one time test. Their opinion is that it is more indicative of success in school.

Seems like they do something right because they have phenomenal STEP1 Scores. Getting close to Baylor

Appreciate the explanation

I PMd you. I believe you will change your mind.

To everyone who doesn't believe me, you will soon see for yourself. I was only trying to help by passing on this information, but perhaps I should be more cautious in the future.

Edit: to everyone messaging me asking for proof, I've given it to enough people. If I give it to everyone, that kind of defeats the purpose of not making it public. You guys will just have to take my word for it.
The fault is not with you; it looks like the admissions department is being contradictory. I'm sure it will be sorted out soon enough.

They are definitely using it if the link is populating on CASper. San Antonio said they were using it like a month ago and still do not have a link. It's a little disappointing UTMB has had zero communication with applications this cycle so far.

They said they would require it when I called the other day. They just haven't decided how it is going to be implemented into admissions etc. That is why they told me to wait for an official email before sending a score.

how did y'all study for the CASPer?
I took the practice test the day before. I also read a bit of the UW bioethics page but realized it wouldn't really help (and it didn't).

Just be a decent person and type fast.

I did their sample test on their website, it went by soooo smooth that I wish it was the REAL thing.

Received an email stating that they are requiring it to "maintain admission eligibility"

So, do they need the score to offer an interview? Or is it just needed to be admitted?

I believe it is needed to be admitted but not for an II.

This is probably a bad question, but if I took Casper for an amcas school, can I use the same results for a tmdsas school? If so how do I add my tmdsas id to that test?

You will designate the schools you wish to send scores to on the CASPer site. You only need to take the test once. You are also allowed to add more schools, which will be helpful this app cycle as a few schools have made the decision recently to request the test score.

Yes. After you take the test, log back in and on your main login page you select "past tests" tab and you select the add schools option (looks like a pencil) and select the new schools you want to send results to. Just make sure you update your CASPer profile to include your TMDSAS ID.

What are the odds schools who have started requiring CASPer will abandon it eventually? I really don't get it. Also, anyone else noticed the high number of typos on the CASPer website? Weird.

Y'all get that email? Like I said, they're requiring CASPer this cycle.

No email yet.

Logical side: "shhhh sweet child, it will come probably by the end of the day, its not even July."
Neurotic side: "yeah they hate me, its over, does Hurricane Harbor pay more for those with advanced degrees?"

Got an email from UTMB today saying they received my application and stating they are requiring CASper this year.

I'm taking my CASPer test on July 8, is that too late? There is no earlier date.

If there is no earlier date, I wouldn't stress! It is definitely not too late since they just added the requirement.

II Received this morning. IS. LizzyM 77. I didn't know that UTMB doesn't allow interview reschedules?
Just go to the interview!
edited to add:
It's not that they won't let you have a different date, it's that they won't let you change a date once you have committed to it. If you have valid reason you can't make those dates feel free to call and ask for another date. They do want to fill the early dates first.

Also received an II, I’ve heard they use a “stress interview” style. I think they use this to see if you can keep your cool idk

You guys getting IIs mind sharing your transmit dates and LizzyMs?
