So, does this mean that UIC is just having a slow cycle this year? Another IS, LM = 76, ORM, complete early August, checking in. MSAR says they interview like 25% of IS applicants so I'm thinking they're not moving as quickly this year

I really hope so, but I don't know how sure we can be about it. Hopefully we'll hear back soon!
 
I do know someone who had 2 MD acceptances in February last year but had not heard from UIC. They now attend UIC. So I definitely still have some hope

I interviewed last Thursday and Dr. Amiri said that, if your interviewer sent your evaluation in and you were considered at tomorrow’s meeting, you could hear as early as Thursday afternoon - Friday morning. I doubt this is a concrete thing though and, while it’d be nice to hear back so soon, I’m not expecting anything. Results might come out for people who interviewed earlier though!

Congratulations! I feel like my "preferences" tab on the portal is really strange. I ranked my preferences, but even after I hit submit, nothing on the page really looks finalized and I can continue to edit all the slots. Is that how yours looked before I guess you received a formal location decision?
 
Thank you! So I believe it registers cuz even now for mine I can still edit my preferred location and btw I never actually received a formal location decision via email or anything. I just happened to check the portal randomly and under the “site assignment tab” it basically filled in “Chicago” where that blank space was before. No formal notification or anything (hoping this is real). Same thing happened with my buddy as well.

Hmmm thanks for letting me know! Yeah, for some reason right now, I don't actually have a tab that says "site assignment" with a blank. It only has a tab that says "site preference" which is the tab I was saying is still editable even after submitting my preferences.

Butting in here but I have a site assignment tab but haven’t been assigned a campus

I have both tabs, but the assignment one has all of the info and a blank space where the actual assignment would be

Grats!! Yeah lol, I think that's where they let us know where we are going. Go to the "Site preference" tab and rank the three campuses there!

Also, is there no deposit? I checked the "technical standards" box on the offer response... is that all I have to do for now?

I'm a little confused about how acceptances work actually-- I want to pick a campus obviously but I have to accept the admission offer first right? But does that mean that I've committed to enrolling here?

No, pretty sure that you have to first accept the admissions offer saying you read and understand the technical standards. Then something else pops up saying that this isn’t binding, the only thing that’s binding is when (in May or whatever) you use the“choose my school” tool on AMCAS and officially pick UIC. So accept the thing saying you’ve read the technical standards, then you’re allowed to rank your campuses.

me! interviewed late october, no word yet. wondering if they have sent any "deferred decisions" yet or if that is coming my way :/

I called the admissions office a bit ago and there is no deposit as of right now! Also, has anyone selected the commit to enroll button on the portal yet? Is there a benefit to doing it now opposed to in April along with the AMCAS tool?

Thanks! Yeah I’m not really sure either tbh lol. They definitely said at the interview that decisions would be communicated via email, but myself and all my friends have heard by phone. They could’ve notified me by carrier pigeon though and I wouldn’t have cared as long as it was an acceptance lmao

Congrats! Talk about being thankful for tomorrow! When did you interview. I interviewed over two months ago. I loved the school but the long silence has me worried 🙁
