I randomly checked my portal yesterday and had an II. I never got an email. Make sure to check your portals guys! Was there any important information in the email that I missed?
Once you choose an interview date they’ll send you a confirmation email with details 🙂

Placed on interview waitlist today. Anyone knows what’s the movement for this? Surprised since my recent MCAT is 7 points above their average. I do have 3 retakes tho.

Word is they have a MCAT/GPA cutoff for waitlist placement, so your previous scores could have placed you. Not sure if there's any movement yet, but I wouldn't take it as a bad thing if the cutoff is true. It sounds like quite a few waitlisters from the previous year received interviews. Good luck, i'm in the same boat!

My previous scores are within their average, only retook them because of CARS which I improved this time around. Probably it’s the multiple MCAT. Oh well. Good luck and hope we hear back soon.

Super strange then. Well you're in a better position then me! Good luck, I would be surprised if you didn't get the chance.

Yes, this whole process is so weird and random. I guess different schools have different criteria by which they select students. Thanks and I am sure you will hear back from schools you have applied to soon.

Also received a hold today. I'm super confused but I'm just going to keep waiting it out.

Ditto. Maybe they didn’t like the fact I waited almost 2 months before completing their secondary lol. Had to admit I was surprised they got to my app so quickly considering I was complete 2 weeks ago. Good luck with the rest of the cycle though.

II this morning, scheduled for late February. Might be withdrawing soonish as I just finished two interviews and have another one coming up, and AZCOM is $$$$.

II yesterday as well. Scheduled for late February...yeeeeeah we’ll see if I actually end up going.

For those on the interview waitlist, I just spoke to admissions and they said they will review us again in Jan for possible interviews. The Admin counselor was nice enough to let me know why I was placed on the waitlist and how likely I will get an II. They do put a high emphasis on MCAT score given that the lady said I am most likely get an II in Jan because of my MCAT. If you are in the same situation, know that you still have a shot. Gl

Thanks for doing that! Good news

Would you be willing to share your MCAT score?

I got a rejection today and the beginning part of the email said like...

"This year you applied to our Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine but unfortunately your application did not advance through the process as you had originally planned. With that in mind, we would like to help you consider another option to help further your academic goals at Midwestern University (MWU). If you consider yourself dependable, conscientious, good with details, collaborative, ethical, and willing to serve; the profession of pharmacy may be a great option for you! While we still encourage you to pursue your first-choice program we want you to know there are alternative ways to become the health care provider you desire to be. "

Why'd they sht on me so hard omg??? 😆 They really just took the time to do me like that, I'm dying of laughter.

I genuinely don't mind having received a rejection, I have other interviews and an acceptance so I'm not stressed this cycle, just wanted to share just because I thought it was hilarious.

I can maybe see why they'd send a podiatry recruitment letter, but pharmacy? That's messed up lol

Got the exact same email too!

I interviewed and got accepted with 507. Whoever started this rumor had no insider knowledge.
Very unfortunate that people might not apply because of misinformation
I think they were just saying that applying this late...you better have great stats because a lot of the spots will be filled by the time they get to you, so things get more competitive. But yeah my MCAT is below their average (barely, 507 over here) and I got an II this week. (Applied in July though.) I mean I think it's obvious that you should apply if you are considering it.

Completely agree. But I have seen several posts here and Reddit stating AZCOM has a hard cutoff of 508 for II, which isn't the case at all.
Sidenote: I applied in September with my 507. GPA and experience are pretty good though IMO.

I think the hard 508 MCAT screen may be for for those with a GPA below a certain set minimum, and I am guessing below their average. The admissions lady I talked to did mention the reason I didnt get the II right away because of my low uGPA. Though I have a strong SMP GPA, she did put more emphasis on my MCAT that will get me the II in Jan. From this, I can guess that if you have a low GPA, you’d need a high MCAT to compensate.

Just want to clarify that I didn't start this rumor, saw it on reddit and further back in the forum. I was lead to believe it because others had said that they called admissions regarding their placement on the waitlist and that it was told to them that MCAT was the reason, and that they are looking for 506+. Was a little surprised that I got a pre-II waitlist placement myself because I applied early and have a 506 MCAT, and was further lead to believe this because others with 506-508 MCAT were placed on this list. Totally could be a GPA thing, however.

And for that specific case, I was only trying to help that person should they decide to apply at this time in the cycle.

Yeah- I think you’re right it’s more than just an MCAT hard cut off. Because I have an interview with a 507- but my GPA is 3.97 and I have a Master’s in bioinformatics and a LOT of research/publications.

Was this email after an interview? or Before an interview? I interviewed on 10/16 and still haven't heard back, starting to get really worried as this was my only interview. They did say 2 weeks though so I have a couple more days I guess...

Have you checked the portal? I know some people on here didn’t get a call or email, just saw the checklist on there.

Yeah, I have, I click on the accepted checklist and it says its only available for accepted students. I will probably call them on Wednesday when it will be 2 weeks. Im curious if they would let me know if I was rejected? or will they just not get back to me

No worries, they didn't give me an interview invite, this was after the secondary, but before an invite, I'm sure you're fine!

Aw man. Silent R post-II would be unkind, I hope that’s not what it is. Maybe someone else who interviewed earlier in the cycle can speak to that.. anyone?

Withdrew my hold from this school. The tuition, compared to my other acceptances, is astronomically high and kind of ridiculous. Best of luck to all!

Hi all,

Canadian, 3.94, 512-515, Decent ECs, 1000 hrs research (no pubs), 1000 hours community work, 300 hours clinical stuff.

I am re-applicant, interviewed here last year in mid-April and was not accepted. I added a bit of clinical research to my application and submitted much earlier this year (Complete Oct. 17th instead of Late Feb). Is there any chance of an interview here or no? I loved the school when I went last year so would love to attend, tuition is high but education seems great. Thanks! And Congrats to those were accepted! 🙂

Edit: Also, a decent chance at CCOM as well? Got rejected pre-II last year there.

Obviously I can't speak for the rest of your app and the school, but stats wise you definitely have a good shot. You're late on your app compared to most, but they seem to have quick turnaround and I would be surprised if you didn't get an interview. Be aware that you are at a bit of a disadvantage from rolling admissions, however. Good luck!

Yeah, it feels like it. Focused on Canadian Apps and then moved onto US schools. Hopefully something from this school, loved the school, campus and the area was amazing. Thank you!

I think you still have a chance of getting an II. Statswise, you are more than competitive for any DO but as an international student that puts you at a disadvantage. Have you been put on hold for II or you are still waiting to hear back from them?

Waiting to hear back as of now!

I interviewed on 10/14 and they said we'd hear something back in 2 weeks. When I confirmed with them on the day, they said that it might take up to 3 weeks. Today is 2 weeks for me and I'm not exactly worried yet until next week. They did say we'd hear a rejection too if that were the case.

You need a ref letter from a USMD for CCOM if you're Canadian. If you do not, you're going to get rejected again.

I do have one from a Canadian MD and they said my requirement is fulfilled for the physician letter :/ Maybe I will check again with them to make sure, thanks for letting me know!

"A second letter from either a U.S. licensed D.O. or M.D. Letters from osteopathic physicians are strongly recommended. Letters written by family members are not acceptable" from their site.

My friend got the his LOR rejected because it wasn't a USMD, apparently they approve it for some people but just reject them later. AACOMAS says the school took only 1 nonresident alien last year. Pretty much adds up considering how it's tough for a nonresident to have a USMD.

Do you know what is the maximum number of letters allowed? I included 6 letters in my AACOMAS application thinking that it's similar to AMCAS and that I would have the option to choose which letter to send to which school. I also received additional letter from a USDO but now I can't submit that to AACOMAS as I reached its maximum and AACOMAS sent all the 6 letters to all the schools I applied to.

Wow, thanks for letting me know. Will call them tmw and ask about this. Thanks! It's weird because they are supposed to be very Canadian friendly, but hopefully, they did approve my letter and won't reject it.
