2019-2020 Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine (RVUCOM-Colorado)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Got my first R today. In-state applicant with 506 MCAT, 3.87 cGPA, and 3.98 sGPA. I think it could have been my clinical experience. I had about 250 hours but I've heard this school likes more. Good luck to you all throughout the cycle!!

For those people who got II, did they send you an email or did you just find out when you opened your portal?

Sounds like yield protection to me, but it could be your clinical experience.

Yeah, I'm not sure what else it could be. I'm applying exclusively DO and this was one of my top choices so it's a bummer for sure but I'm trying my best to stay positive 🙂

Not a chance.. No offense to the other user, they have a great cum/science GPA but a 506 MCAT would never be yield protected
Haha no offense taken, I agree! 🙂 I thought I would be a fairly good match because of their mean MCAT score but maybe they're looking for additional qualities that I don't have.

Your stats were definitely competitive for the school! I think as you suspect, it may be the clinical hours. I've also heard that they weigh it heavily.

Any current students here that can explain the "tracks" more in depth than what is on the website? Specifically the rural and wilderness track.

new tab "clinical education" added to the portal with a preceptor contact form. odd.

How long did it take to get File Complete status? I submitted my secondary on 7/15 and it still shows “Applicant”.

Does RVU have student hosts for people coming from out of state or anything like that for the interview?

I don't see anything about LOR's anywhere on RVUCOM's webpage.

Under the applicant tab, there is a little section that looks like this:

274388

starting to low key panic over here complete on 7/12

You saved me a few days! Thanks for your input. Once I emailed them, FILEC within 5 minutes.
What did you say in the email? I emailed today inquiring about the LOR's and they said not to worry and that my app just hadn't been reviewed yet.. I wish they would've changed mine to FILEC! 😆 I submitted my app and letter on like June 5th.

I suggest you email them; same situation for me, apparently if you have LOR come in late, they don't update automatically. Good luck.

sorry for the confusion. my file has been marked "FILEC" complete since the 12th. I also had to email them to get my letters to be updated.

I sent my email to: [email protected]
I just let them know my letters were there, but hadn't been updated. June 5th? Sarcasm or serious question?

Yeah my email said basically the same thing. For clarification, my primary app was submitted June 5th and my letters had already been uploaded to AACOMAS at that time. My secondary was submitted on 7/14. It just seems odd that mine is taking so long, but I'm sure they'll update soon.

EDIT: It showed up as FILEC on 8/1/19. Woohoo!
