So it sounds like they book dates in groups of three until a date is full (8/16, 8/23, 9/6 right now) and i chose 8/23
Yeah I have 8/16 but having trouble arranging to get there so soon...not easy to get to Gainesville!

Interviewed/Accepted last cycle (current MS1), happy to answer any questions about interview day/ my experience so far, about gainesville, etc.

Can you explain the patient experience on interview day?
On my interview day, we had a patient who was seen at UF explain his/her story, and their experience in the UF health shands network. Its more of a listen, learn, and ask questions type of thing. It is a great experience that really shows (not just says) UF cares about patients first. You won't be expected/asked to perform any tasks or know answers to any questions. I hope that answers your question.

what's the number that called? I tend to ignore calls from random numbers because they're normally telemarketers or stuff like that but I should probably stop doing that for the next few months

352 area code number.

Yeah same I ignore calls unless they in areas code of places I’ve applied to

They said it wasn't a big deal I'll be so late (Do I believe them tho 😵 ). Yea they don't seem too bad, I would have submitted it today but I need that stupid gator ID # to submit my app. It is kinda telling that their MD app is like this, after their undergrad app was so pretentious too...

Don't worry, it actually isnt a big deal. During my cycle I didn't submit my first secondary until 8/20, and UF was submitted 8/22. It definitely didn't hurt me.

I had my UF secondary email in my spam folder, and it was inadvertently deleted. I am not sure how to access the secondary login. Can anyone pm me the link to the login portal? Thanks!

It wont work. U have to have a UFID set up first. Call the admissions office.

Is it too late to submit my secondary? Kinda debating doing this one.. It's my last one.

For people who have received secondaries, does the application ask about immediate family members being alumni of the university, not necessarily UF SOM?

You are not considered early anymore but anything complete before labor day weekend is on time.

I would apply if interested in the program and you're a solid applicant.

Just wondering what your interview was like and what kind of questions/environment to expect?

My interview was similar to icebird. Its really just a conversation. They don't know your gpa/mcat. They really only care about getting to know you as a person. One interviewer asked about some of my experiences but not really in a quizzical way, more of a "i haven't heard about x, can you tell me what that was?" It was super relaxed, almost no stress kind of thing.

Thats great to hear. So from what it sounds like, it was an open-file interview? But they just withheld the gpa and mcat

As another alum of the class of 2014, I'll echo what Dr. Zaius said and say that UF prepares you very well for residency. You will get a great education here, and have a blast doing it.

Its blinded in the sense that the interviewers have no access to your gpa/mcat, but only your amcas app in terms of your experiences you wrote down. Then they try to mold the conversation around that. Its really easy to keep the conversation going and low stress.
