Pretty conversational, at one point my interviewer and I were talking about our favorite movies and actors. It was awesome
 
II here, UF is The Dream (TM). Enjoyed reading everyone's comments on this thread, very insightful. It already seems like a great group, crossing my fingers to join everyone on the other side...

For those who did interview already, was staying with the med students a great pre-interview night experience (ie sleep quality lol).

Best of luck! I loved my interview day at uf. I didn’t stay with a med student but I would highly recommend going to the pre-interview dinner!

I know other people said their interviews were really laid-back, but I have to say this depends on your interviewer. One of mine was very chill and conversational. The other one, not so much. The interviewer was nice, but asked some tough questions and disagreed with me on a few points. Still a good interview experience, just slightly stressful lol

The staff did mention that they try to match us with interviewers who share our interests/motivations, and I had a lot in common with both of my interviewers, so for the most part, the conversation flowed well.

Overall, just follow the typical interview advice (know your application and be able to talk about yourself and experiences, know about issues in healthcare, etc). Good luck!

Thank you! I'm looking forward to the dinner, especially, it says "casual" dress but does it hurt to be a little fancy casual? 🙂

Yeah I went with a cute top, jeans, and wedges. It was very causal and definitely but me at ease before my first interview!
 
@foodie96 @amila166 Great! Thank you both so much, I'll really appreciate being put at ease before these interviews! I think it's going into the "Florida 40's" this week so jeans are a good pick...

I stayed with two M1 students. One of them spent the night with their gf so I had a room to myself and my own bathroom. They drove me to the dinner the night before and to and from the interview. 10/10 Would recommend
 
I had an interview this past Friday, but I didn't catch an expected timeline of how early we can -hope- to hear back. Does anyone know?

At my interview, they told us the exact date. It was about 5 weeks after, but this was also over the holidays, so maybe you'll hear back sooner.
 
Has anyone who was accepted on Jan 14th received an email to set up a Gatorlink account yet?

Hi interview buddy, if I recall they said Feb. 3rd (Monday), so yes, really quick turnaround!

Hey, I'm under the impression that for interview date Jan 24 we will hear back by March 3. But they will contact us as sooner if the decision is made!

Thank you for coming to the rescue of my melatonin'd mind! 🙂 I did write down in my notes March 3rd, sorry for giving the wrong date.

All the more time to channel our energy into positive outlets! Day one of learning the guitar I've already broken a string and had to come crawling back to the guitar shop, so you could say it's going really well haha
 
what is the waitlist movement like here? is there any?

Just got WL and it burnnns, but it was super fast which is nice!
 
Looking at the last few years, it looks like the last interview was in March and the wait list movement is minimal, mostly towards the end of the cycle on April 30th and May, when others drop spots.

This is wild speculation, though, so in any case let's keep our heads up ie "We look to the future and we keep moving forward" Good luck to all!

I think WL movement will be very different this year because the AAMC has decreased the amount of information given to schools. In the past(last year), they were able to see all the schools every applicant who applied to their school applied to and every status of the applicant(if they were given a secondary, interview, acceptance, waitlist etc.). Currently, they can see how many schools you applied to and how many schools you've been interviewed, accepted, waitlisted etc. but with no names of the other schools. Before they would use the information about the other schools to gauge if you were likely to come to their school or not but now they can't so I think they are being conservative with their acceptances. That's why now they have the self-report for UF when you are accepted to gauge your level of interest. That being said all schools are in that same boat so my guess is when people finally commit to enroll wherever there will be more movement than expected. Just my two cents.

**My source for this information comes from 3 interviews I've been on where they all said the same thing where they have decreased info this year.
 
Is it worth sending a LOI if waitlisted? This is my top choice but I know there was barely any WL movement the past few cycles
 
Has UF released any information on how they want us to use the "Choose Your Medical School" tool?

How exactly is plan to enroll used differently that you've seen? I was under the assumption only commit to enroll deadlines were of importance besides just narrowing down to 3/1 schools as outlined by AAMC

Choose your school consists of plan, commit, etc. The poster didn’t specify which one they were asking for; specifically in Florida, some schools have earlier CTE dates than others so its a valid question.
 
Sorry, didn't realize this was a semantics thing. PTE only thing available for 2 months, assumed he meant PTE. April 30 is UF PTE deadline (Which is AAMCs "rule.") When CTE becomes available in 2 months, CTE deadline for UF is 7/3/20
 
For those of you planning to attend second look, apparently you get your aid package there based on the old thread for the prior cycle. It also shows that people who didn't attend second look don't get the email with financial aid until like a week+ later. Kind of annoying since I'll be out of town for another one

This seems to have happened at quite a few schools like Pitt. They over-enrolled because of the AMCAS change. AAMC making everyone's life difficult
