How soon after you submitted primary did you receive the secondary?

I’ve been complete since early July and still haven’t heard anything about interviews. Says on their website they don’t start carrying out interviews until September and October. A lot of other schools still haven’t sent out interviews either. Try not to worry, I am sure anytime in this week or the next it will start to pop off.

Hey y’all, OMS-III at UNE COM and former student interviewer. Please let me know if you have questions about the school and the application process!
This is a specific questions but do you know if they send out interview rejection emails? It seems like people are getting interviews already but I have not heard anything and I applied back in May. I'm just curious if need to call to see if they rejected me before an interview or if they just haven't gotten to me?

I just submitted my fee, do you know how long it takes to be complete now. Do they send us an email?
Yep, I just got the complete email yesterday, so took about 5 days from fee payment to complete email! Yours should be coming soon too

Remember, at this point no news is good news. I know it can be stressful, but now is the time to practice patience. Remember, they have thousands of apps to go through and may not be going through them in the order they received them in. Your time will come.

You won’t hear anything until you either receive an interview or they send out a notice that they have completed interviews in April. Try not to stress too much about it. They haven’t forgotten about you!

I have been complete since July 23rd. Still no II, tbh I'm afraid this is a silent rejection. Should I worry?

Hoping for an II next week. Why do they send II to some people faster than others? There are people here that got II after weeks. And I'm here waiting over a month. What method they use to send II, is it in order of completion?

Assuming you are going to get an II because you sent your app in first is not the way to approach med school admissions. Every school has their own policies and procedures and stratify apps as they come in.If you follow the school specific threads you'll see plenty of instances where people hear back but had sent their complete app in later than others.

I think they read chicken bones and use a dartboard. Or perhaps they alphabetize our review by the third letter of our middle names.

Can any current students speak to the current status of UNECOM after what seemed like quite a controversial year last year (as per the thread) — especially for second years? Would love to consider this school if I land an A, but read some things that were equivalent to “Don’t come here!” which made me skeptical.

TIA!

Is anyone else getting these emails about some conference? They've been sending them every 30 mins for the past 2 hours and I keep thinking it's an II lol

I received my invitation to interview this morning!! Super excited. Submitted the primary ~7/26, paid the secondary fee ~8/10.

I am OOS (but in New England), and I am interviewing on 9/24 in the afternoon! UNE COM is tied for my top choices for medical school (including MD and DO programs), so I'm really excited for this interview!
Why is UNE COM so high up on your list and which school is it tied with?

Mainly location (my partner's family lives in the area), and I also love Maine. In addition, I am friends with several people that attend UNE COM/have already graduated from UNE COM, and I feel that I would fit in really well there. I'll DM you more details! Also, UVM and Tufts are my other top choices!

Congrats!! I hope u kill the II

Did you guys get a reply back when you confirmed your attendance for an interview via email?

I submitted my primary last week and they sent me an email stating

"Your application is being held for additional review at a later date due to a lower overall GPA, science GPA, and/or MCAT score. At this time you will not receive an invitation to submit a supplemental application payment. As we progress through the cycle you may receive notice of a change in status based on the competitiveness of the applicant pool at that time"

Is it a rejection or what?

They are waiting for more applications with your stats to send their apps in for comparison or gauge to see if there are more applicants with better stats. So, it depends on the composition of this years applicants to the school. Saves you some money at least.

So what should I do meanwhile, retake the Mcat ???

I don't know if it's your MCAT/GPA that's deficient. If it's the MCAT then yes, I'd plan on a retake at some point between now and next May if I were you.

Mcat is 495 ☹ postbac science is 3.77
UG science is 3.15

You'll want to retake that to have a realistic shot anywhere. Could be a good idea to take a gap year and develop you're application as a whole. However, since you've already applied and put your name and app in front of these schools, I'd retake it as soon as you're ready to and have improved your study techniques.

The earliest is only January 2020. Thanks to AAMC

Open file. 2 faculty interviewers and 1 student. 30 minutes in which you can be asked anything. It’s not meant to be stressful, just to see if you fit in with our community!
