Mail just came, no letter. Was told it was going to be mailed on the 8th so I don't know why it's not here yet.

I have read that USPS is really backed up due to workers being sick with coronavirus and shutdowns in some areas. It could just be that the mail is a bit slower than usual (assuming they are using USPS).

It shouldn't take over a week to get mail from instate with out of state applicants already getting responses

That’s true. I didn’t realize people out of state had already gotten their letters for that interview week.

That's cool that Thursday was added to the interview day.
Yea, I was told they are having a lot of interviews to get through so probably the reason. I think there are a lot more people having to do these zoom interviews than we think. The interviewer said they would be reviewing students from this week in this Friday's meeting but due to volume there is a possibility my application would not be discussed until next week. So just a heads up.

I'm an in-state applicant, but I currently live out of state and have gotten my letter. I was in the batch mailed April 9. I would suggest reaching out to Mrs/Ms Harris if you haven't gotten yours especially if you are in-state!
Nobody actually gets put on waitlist yet. Everyone is accepted, on hold, or rejected right now. The first week of May the on hold list is reviewed then they offer more acceptances, and all others from on hold will get put on the waitlist. Hope this helps some of you! Keep your chins up 🙂

*chin up as high as it can go* I wish I could just go to sleep and wake up again when I have an answer

I just received an email from Diane Harris:

Thank you for taking the time from your day to open my e-mail to ask that you please accept my sincere apologies for not postal mailing your letter! I truly miss being in my office and was not aware that I had not postal mailed your letter until I double checked all the places I would have placed my copy of your letter. I promise that I will postal mail your letter tomorrow [Friday, April 17] to the address indicated on your interview appointment letter unless you wish that I postal mail your letter to a different mailing address.

May you and your family stay safe! Thank you for your patience! diane :~(

--It seems she forgot or misplaced my letter? It looks like she didn't send out some of the letters from April 9th.

+3

All the letters are signed by Mr. Strother before being sent. She is likely referring to that.

I got the same letter as above ^

I asked her if she would be willing to email my letter given this. She said that she will be more than happy to once It is signed. Is she implying that this is an acceptance as students have to sign the agreement below in the packet and send it back to her?

Anyone that interviewed this week, have you received an email about when your application will be reviewed?

Did you get it emailed to you yet? because I got nothing
I just got the email a few mins ago and it's a hold. It seems as though they are holding most if not all of their students (in state) at the moment due to COVID-19 and having to cancel and delay interviews. I had relatively high stats as well

anyone have any idea how many people they take off of hold during first week of may?

Are you on waitlist or on hold? And if you're on waitlist, how long after on hold did they tell you you're on waitlist?

Keep ur head up you got this!

Hey there! I'm not sure why I placed W on there but I am on hold. 😢

"Hope is the worst of evils, for it prolongs the torment of man."

Also, for those who did online interviews: the admissions committee handles the hold list. But if you’re officially moved onto the waitlist, that’s handled by the admins of the college, not the admissions committee. You’re put on a ranked list and it only moves when admitted students withdraw. So the adcoms will not be able to do anything other than give you a ranking based on thirds.

Edit: was told this by Nelson Strother in my morning session

Interviewed on 3/11. I just got an email saying I was granted an additional interview this week via Zoom. I'm curious if anyone else was granted another interview like this? It said "the committee felt the need for additional information". What information do you all think that means?

Had you received any other notifications before that?
The is only from having heard from ONE person this happened to (much sooner after her interview): a friend of mine interviewed there and said her first interview went well but the second interviewer did not like her. So they scheduled a third one for her. But apparently they directly told her that was the reason. So that doesn't mean it's the same reason in your case. Either way, that friend is doing great right now. First year med student and before all the covid interruptions, she was granted a summer research position at John's Hopkins.
So. You can still knock some socks off if that were the case!

It means the committee is 50/50 on your app. So they’re using a third interview to break the tie

Not that I know of. It's probably just to give the interviewee's who had it on zoom some form of a campus tour. I interviewed week of 4/10 and have yet to receive any news nor do I see any changes in amcas.
Yeah I’m someone on hold from a ZOOM interview and I got the email so I think everybody’s getting it

No other notifications before that. This gives me a lot of hope!

I received the same emails and am in the same boat. I thought tomorrow was the last interview day as well. It sounds like Diane is super busy and maybe they are all backed up, but I'm starting to think we aren't going to have a shot to interview 🙁

I would interview her ASAP because that’s unfair. She’s very responsive and very nice.

I did email her last Monday, April 13th, to check in and still no response :/ Is it worth shooting another email? I want to be sensitive to how bizarre these times are
