Super happy for everyone getting A’s from the WL! But I won’t lie, it’s making me extremely nervous that I might get left behind 😢
sameee. I'm on WL and I'm starting to lose it lollll

I was about to edit my post about people feeling like this, but I didn't want to sound pretentious. Trust me, I know how it feels to be in the situation and I wanted to offer a few words of encouragement! This movement JUST started and they haven't been accepting a lot of people everyday; it's more of a trickle. You have until the first week of July to hear back, and it's ONLY the first week of May. Just make sure to update the school with Winter 2021 grades since those have come out/are coming out. LOI's and updates are also a good way to keep the school updated!

Accepted off of the WL today! Part of Oct. gang. WL'd in March. It's been so long since I've looked at AMCAS that I don't remember my GPA. 507 MCAT.
Congrats on your acceptance!! Do you mind sharing if you’re IS or OOS? Thank you!

Is there a GroupMe for this class? If not, I will really appreciate it if someone makes one and post link here.

I know for sure there's a FB class (Chris Austin will send you an email with the link). I believe I remember hearing about a GroupMe, but since I don't have that app I haven't joined it -but I think it exists!

Hi guys! Current M1 here at CMED. Just wanted to say that I was where you guys were last year. I didn't get off the waitlist until June 30th so I know that it feels discouraging but don't give up hope! It's still pretty early in the waitlist game.

Thank you both for the support! Still feeling super anxious, but it's a bit comforting to hear that 💕

Fingers crossed people who declined their acceptance have just been overwhelmed and forgotten to remove themselves from the group. 🤞😬😅
Also, the number can be transient. I'm on a WL at a DO school that is my top choice, but I also joined the group, already. God willing I make it into there, I'll retract my acceptance instantly, but leaving the FB group would not be my highest priority.

Anyone else get an email asking to send a notice of interest if you’re still interested
Yepp, also just got this email. I already sent a Letter of Intent back in early April. Are you guys providing explanations or just a literal "I am still interested" message?

I literally just said I am still interested since I also sent an actual letter a while ago

When the notice of interest email says you can hear back as late as mid July but you’re OOS and need to know ASAP for moving purposes!!!

I’m slowly losing my mind 😩

This!!! I really love this program but am really getting anxious...

At 9pm CT this low-stat/non-trad/OOS applicant just got accepted off the waitlist! Interviewed 9/11, waitlisted in Jan.

CMU believed in me from the get-go and I am extremely excited to call it home. 🙂
Congrats! Very excited for all those accepted so far! @katchline, I have a very similar background to you in broad terms (low-stat, non-trad, OOS, interviewed 9/11, currently on the waitlist). I would be curious to know, if you think it's appropriate and you don't mind sharing, what kind of contact you've had with the school since being placed on the waitlist (i.e. updates? LoI? campus visit? talking to students/staff?). Thanks, and congratulations again!

Thanks! And I don't mind sharing.
  1. I periodically sent update letters that expressed my interest, shared updates, and reiterated why I believed I would be a good fit for their mission and a good contribution to the class. I sent the first in October after not getting a decision on the 15th, the next in January after being WL'd, and the final update letter in March. I read somewhere that they only accept three updates but I can't remember where I found that info.
  2. I attended most of the Road to Matriculation live sessions, but I have no idea if that helped. Maybe it got my name to be more recognizable? I'm not sure.
  3. I did not visit campus, send a Letter of Intent (although I almost did), and I did not talk to any staff/students outside of those Road to Matriculation sessions.

Question for Accepted folks: How long did it take to get things like the cmich.edu email, financial aid, and get in the Facebook group?

+1 and also how long until the CYMS tool popped up on AMCAS?
CYMS was available for me the next day, and I got the Certiphi screening about 3 days after. That screening was completed in 24 hours, and so I released it to the school today.

I'm just itching to get into the FB group and see if anyone has housing leads.

After a lot of deliberation and counseling from the surgeons I work for, I've made the decision to go to MSUCOM. As soon as I get everything taken care of for matriculation, I'll be withdrawing my acceptance here. Should be within the next 1-2 weeks. Good luck, everyone!

Congrats on your multiple acceptances and picking your home for the next 4 years!! You're gonna do amazing at MSUCOM!

I wouldn't think so, given their email last week mentioned that they accept people up until mid-July.

I agree with that but just to make sure there is clarity for everyone... COM said they accept till first week on June and closed their cycle today...so I don’t think we truly know anything

Accepted off the waitlist today! Can’t believe it! First A after two years applying and over 50 applications. Thank you SDN for the help! If anyone knows of the accepted group chat could you please send link <3
Congrats! Are you OOS or IS?
