I actually had a good experience with him. He came across as like grumpy but cool once you get to know him? He even laughed at a joke I made I was very pleased with myself lol. I got accepted last month for what it's worth.I have not seen a single person speak of a positive interview experience with him smh
Someone in October got an A at 4P estSo, do we think they are done sending acceptances for today? I feel like from what was posted on here it was much less than last release days.
Congrats on the other schools! Did they actually send you a deferral today or are you presuming a deferral?Got a deferral today! Interviewed early November. I got some other schools I really love, so I'm withdrawing here. Good luck everyone!
Nope. I hate to say it but I'm assuming we're going to have to wait for the February release date.Anyone who interviewed in late November hear back yet?
Congrats! Did you hear this morning or recently?Accepted!!!! 11/02 interviewer
Looks like they got to early November, we'll have to wait until February nowStill nothing - interviewed 11/19
Same here. Can’t believe we’ll be waiting more than 15 weeks for a response if we hear back in FebruaryHeard nothing as well. Interviewed 11/12
Thanks my dude. Yes, they sent me a deferral today and gave me the option to keep the deferral or withdraw my app.Congrats on the other schools! Did they actually send you a deferral today or are you presuming a deferral?
I agree. It is definitely a complicated and frustrating time.Same here. Can’t believe we’ll be waiting more than 15 weeks for a response if we hear back in February
Same. I thought for sure 11/11 interviewees would hear back today. Didn't even question it. Pretty crazySame here. Can’t believe we’ll be waiting more than 15 weeks for a response if we hear back in February
No they’re just behindSo if we didn’t hear anything today and we were first week of November is it basically either waitlist or rejection at this point?
During the interview they basically say timing doesnt depend on interview date but rather how long it takes for your interviewers to put in their notes, a person to make a summary sheet, and then for you to be brought to their committee. So in short it’s possible your interviewers/assigned summarizer mightve just been slow.So if we didn’t hear anything today and we were first week of November is it basically either waitlist or rejection at this point?
Oh I had no idea! That would be nice, if true. Pre-Clinical Exams are all pass/fail with internal rankings. These rankings mean little to nothing besides data stratification. For things like AOA, clinical grades far far outweigh pre-clinical grades. Can any current student at Drexel shed light on how students are evaluated during the preclinical years?
Is Drexel true P/F? What happens if a student fails (also wonder how common that is)?
Any of your thoughts and observations regarding pre-clinical student evaluation will be helpful.
Dang, a pass was a 70 when i was an M1/2Pre-Clinical Exams are all pass/fail with internal rankings. These rankings mean little to nothing besides data stratification. For things like AOA, clinical grades far far outweigh pre-clinical grades.
You need a 73+ in the courses overall (so if a student fails one exam you can make it up by doing well on the next one). There are key things that are "must-pass" like the comprehensive exam in Year 2 or other clinical skills checks. If a student fails a class, the options thereafter are up to the "promotions committee."
If the student failed by a wide margin or in multiple areas they might ask the student to withdraw and start again next year. If the student fails by a narrow margin, they will offer summer remediation. Failing summer remediation is an automatic dismissal I believe. Its also all very case-by-case basis whether the student gets offered remediation/asked to withdraw for the year/dismissed based on if the promotions committee believes the student has the capacity to change the previous outcome.
@Melchizedek Thank you for the detailed perspective! This is so helpful. I didn't know we were supposed to fill out reviews...I didn't get a link or anything. I interviewed a while back, was this required??So I wrote a pretty negative review a while back about my interview experience. I interviewed back in November and just received an acceptance yesterday. I won't be attending here but just wanted to let anyone who got my same interviewer know that even if you think he hated you and you did horribly, that's probably just his personality and you may still have a shot. I've attended a lot of interviews and I thought this was by far my absolute worst.
Multiple choice for most things, microanatomy questions you might be given a fill in the blank question that won't be more than 2 or 3 words. Gross anatomy practicals were blank sheets of paper and you have to name the tagged structure at each station. This has been modified for COVID into image questions on an online test with fill-in-the-blank answers. They may or may not go back to live cadaver practicals depending on how COVID shakes out and student feedback.@Melchizedek Thank you for the detailed perspective! This is so helpful. Historically they interview into AprilI havent got a status update since the summer. when do interviews finish?
No, someone on this thread a while back was asking about how the interview went and I replied here with my "review."I didn't know we were supposed to fill out reviews...I didn't get a link or anything. I interviewed a while back, was this required??
Out of state. LM ~67Would you mind sharing your stats? Are you in IS?
My saving grace. I got through Microbiology with basically a 70 on the nose.Wait lmao I’m an M1 and a pass is a 70
sorry im late!Would you mind sharing your stats ? Please
Yea, there were breaks from what I rememberfor those who already interviewed, did you interview for the whole allotted time? also, I don't see any breaks throughout the day (for bathroom or lunch), did you have any time for those things?
No. My interview was done in 15 min. He had very straightforward questions about my app and he was very concise when answering my questions so it blew by.for those who already interviewed, did you interview for the whole allotted time? also, I don't see any breaks throughout the day (for bathroom or lunch), did you have any time for those things?
for my interview, we used up the full 30 minutes and actually went over by a few minutes. There are breaks because they have interviews for 1.5 hrs and each candidate only interviews for 30 minutesfor those who already interviewed, did you interview for the whole allotted time? also, I don't see any breaks throughout the day (for bathroom or lunch), did you have any time for those things?
Mine went over to about 40-45 minutes. There are breaks, I had time to do stufffor those who already interviewed, did you interview for the whole allotted time? also, I don't see any breaks throughout the day (for bathroom or lunch), did you have any time for those things?
