I have not seen a single person speak of a positive interview experience with him smh
I actually had a good experience with him. He came across as like grumpy but cool once you get to know him? He even laughed at a joke I made I was very pleased with myself lol. I got accepted last month for what it's worth.

So, do we think they are done sending acceptances for today? I feel like from what was posted on here it was much less than last release days.

I interviewed early December and they said our decisions would be released today, but it seems they are a bit behind. Any predictions on when early December interviewees may hear back? Any hope for February 19th lol ??

So if we didn’t hear anything today and we were first week of November is it basically either waitlist or rejection at this point?

During the interview they basically say timing doesnt depend on interview date but rather how long it takes for your interviewers to put in their notes, a person to make a summary sheet, and then for you to be brought to their committee. So in short it’s possible your interviewers/assigned summarizer mightve just been slow.

Oh I had no idea! This actually makes me feel so much better, thank you SO much!

That would be nice, if true. I was 11/2 but didn’t hear any decision today.

Can any current student at Drexel shed light on how students are evaluated during the preclinical years?

Is Drexel true P/F? What happens if a student fails (also wonder how common that is)?

Any of your thoughts and observations regarding pre-clinical student evaluation will be helpful.

Pre-Clinical Exams are all pass/fail with internal rankings. These rankings mean little to nothing besides data stratification. For things like AOA, clinical grades far far outweigh pre-clinical grades.

You need a 73+ in the courses overall (so if a student fails one exam you can make it up by doing well on the next one). There are key things that are "must-pass" like the comprehensive exam in Year 2 or other clinical skills checks. If a student fails a class, the options thereafter are up to the "promotions committee."

If the student failed by a wide margin or in multiple areas they might ask the student to withdraw and start again next year. If the student fails by a narrow margin, they will offer summer remediation. Failing summer remediation is an automatic dismissal I believe. Its also all very case-by-case basis whether the student gets offered remediation/asked to withdraw for the year/dismissed based on if the promotions committee believes the student has the capacity to change the previous outcome.

Dang, a pass was a 70 when i was an M1/2

So I wrote a pretty negative review a while back about my interview experience. I interviewed back in November and just received an acceptance yesterday. I won't be attending here but just wanted to let anyone who got my same interviewer know that even if you think he hated you and you did horribly, that's probably just his personality and you may still have a shot. I've attended a lot of interviews and I thought this was by far my absolute worst.

@Melchizedek Thank you for the detailed perspective! This is so helpful. Are all the pre-clinical exams multiple-choice format or are they open-ended questions?

I didn't know we were supposed to fill out reviews...I didn't get a link or anything. I interviewed a while back, was this required??

Multiple choice for most things, microanatomy questions you might be given a fill in the blank question that won't be more than 2 or 3 words. Gross anatomy practicals were blank sheets of paper and you have to name the tagged structure at each station. This has been modified for COVID into image questions on an online test with fill-in-the-blank answers. They may or may not go back to live cadaver practicals depending on how COVID shakes out and student feedback.

I havent got a status update since the summer. when do interviews finish?

No, someone on this thread a while back was asking about how the interview went and I replied here with my "review."

for those who already interviewed, did you interview for the whole allotted time? also, I don't see any breaks throughout the day (for bathroom or lunch), did you have any time for those things?

Yea, there were breaks from what I remember

No. My interview was done in 15 min. He had very straightforward questions about my app and he was very concise when answering my questions so it blew by.

for my interview, we used up the full 30 minutes and actually went over by a few minutes. There are breaks because they have interviews for 1.5 hrs and each candidate only interviews for 30 minutes

Has anyone tried to get in touch with the admission office lately? I have been trying to call it just says the office is closed and they haven't replied to my email.
What the deal with the FBI fingerprinting? Do we have to have it done in PA?

Has anyone talked with admissions lately? Any updates on if they are running behind on reviewing post interview applications. Or if they plan on adding more days to the list of decision days.
