2020-2021 Loyola (Stritch)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Any DACA students in the thread who've gotten II's or acceptances?

not to sound dumb but would it be dumb to send an update if you’ve already interviewed or would it be worthless
I don’t think it’s dumb! They said we can send updates after the interview at any point. I sent an update a few days after my interview. Def won’t hurt.

So how do we apply for need based aid from loyola if accepted?
On interview day they typically give you a pink folder with all the info. Clearly they can’t do that this year cause virtual so I’m sure they’ll figure it out. It’s not sure until like March so you got lots of time.

Hi all! Current M1 at Stritch here, hope your application cycles are going well, it's a long and stressful process but keep working at it, it'll be worth it in the long run.

Just dropping the link to our Class or 2025 Accepted Students Facebook group for future reference. There are two membership questions, please make sure you provide us with the name and email you used to apply to Stritch with, so we can cross check it with the list the Admissions office gives us.

I don't really use this site much but PM me if you have any questions and I can try to get back to you.

Good luck with the rest of your interviews, decisions, and application cycle 🙂

The last part of the interview day involved a brief presentation from Financial Services on how to apply for financial aid from Loyola. They mentioned that you must have a FAFSA application on file to be considered for financial aid from the school, and I believe this is due sometime in February.

Has anyone who interviewed on 9/29 heard back yet?
I think there are quite a few of us from the 9/15, 9/17, and 9/29 interview days who haven't heard anything. I emailed admissions and they said I could expect to hear something around Nov 9th and that's likely the same case for others. Not too optimistic since they're accepting people they interviewed only a couple weeks ago, but we'll see I guess.

I just got continued consideration. So upsetting because I thought my interview went really well. Does anyone know what the chances of getting AC after CC? And when people hear back?

From my research it seems you have a pretty good chance of getting off of it as long as you show them you are still interested. The earliest they accepted someone off of it last year was early December up until June.

If you’re serious about it I would send a letter of intent before Christmas. But waiting is also fine. You can send letter of interest in mean time

Too late to submit secondary? Received it early September but two full-time jobs have really limited the time I could dedicate to writing. Will submit regardless- just would like to know how negatively I will be affected by this timeline. I keep seeing mixed opinions with COVID & whatnot, especially since schools are in varied places in the review process.

Anyone know when they start looking at continued consideration again?

So from my understanding the way continued consideration works is that they review your application each time during the adcom's weekly meetings. The first person that was accepted off the CC list last year was early December.

Thank you for that info. Really made me feel more relaxed.

So CC is much better than a normal waitlist? As in there is movement before March/April?

When is the soonest people have heard a decision post-interview? 2 weeks? 3-4?

I guess that’s one way of thinking about it. I wouldn’t say it’s “much better” because most movement off CC will happen when it becomes the waitlist.

Hey guys I was complete late August.... was wondering if Loyola does any pre-ii rejections before the end of the year and if we haven’t heard back from them yet is that a soft r?

Loyola only sends pre-interview rejections at the very end of the cycle! But they get a large # of apps so it takes them awhile to review. I think they’re just now getting to beginning of august apps. I was complete mid aug and nothing yet!
