2021-2022 Meharry

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Lmao 3rd for me as well! I was almost sure it was a rejection.
I got a 4th! One in July, one in august, and two in September! 1 of them said “2021 AMCAS” and 3 said “2022 AMCAS” but this is my first year applying……

so I noticed I received an email from them in July that thanked me for sending in my 2021 AMCAS and got the 2022 AMCAS today. So whoever commented that they had a glitch in their system might be right.
Same^

i have been really successful reaching Meharry's admissions person. i spoke with her about the numerous emails and she said that they updated their system friday so the consistent emails are likely a glitch.

what was your mcat? Are you black?
Why do you want to know if I’m black?
Would you trust your doctor knowing he had under a 4.0? I know I wouldn't.
Then you’ll miss out on a ton of kick ass doctors, because GPA usually says nothing about what kind of doctor a person will be. I had far below a 4.0 in undergrad and I was accepted into medical school.

Keep at it friends, if you’re stubborn enough you’ll make it!

How were you able to get in contact? Did you ask about secondaries?

Well you said you applied through 4 cycles and you got into some school in Europe not the USA. A 4.0 post bacc has nothing to do with it. It's because a 500 MCAT is not competitive. Why not just study harder on it? It's better than going to the Caribbean or out of the country because out of USA don't get into residency at all or have an extremely difficult time getting into a residency. If neuro is what you want you should apply to low tier DO programs at the least.
Wow, study harder on it, apply to DO schools… Never thought of that! 🙄

Cause people swear being URM is a guaranteed ticket to med school. -__-
Its not about color of skin. It’s about the experiences you go through and how well you reflect on them. Reason why URM are looked positively upon is because of their hardships and how it helped them become resilient. Also they are most likely to become more compassionate and culturally competent. Things that grades don’t teach you, and I believe to be very crucial. As an ORM if you truly went out of your way to experience those hardships through volunteering or employment, then you are set. The problem is many ORM just do them to check it off of their checklist and they can’t really reflect on it.

Just got the email to complete my secondary, but I already completed it :x Here's to hoping nothing went wrong when I initially sent it

What does first generation professional student mean?

If my parents went to get masters but nothing higher, am I considered first gen professional?

I’m confused Bc i had submitted this one back in July but I got an e-mail to submit a secondary just now. Anyone else?

I just got a secondary from them but I submitted mine back in July. Did this also happen to anyone else?

+1, I emailed them to ask if they received the first one and if not what I should do. Got an automated message with a list of FAQs but idk if that means they'll respond or not. Will let you know what happens, but this does confirm the hunch I had that getting the secondary early on was a bug/tech issue on their part. I just hope it means we'll start getting considered now and we don't have to pay more money.

haha, do you think it's just a glitch in their system?
I hope so!! I would hate to have thought I was early and now I’m not
I think it's a tech issue. It seems some people who applied to Wake Forest and Meharry got the Meharry app early, possibly to do with the fact they're both using ApplyWeb for supplementals. I just hope it means we don't need to pay extra, it's 100% their fault.

use their [email protected] email address. that one is a real person not just automated responses.

I just received a secondary and submitted the primary in June.
