For anyone who's already interviewed, please let us know how it went! Is the student interview a group interview?

My faculty interview was wicked low stress, and really seemed that they were trying to get to know me. Student interview was similar and slightly more informal. I'm sure this varies greatly depending on who you speak with, but I really enjoyed the perspective the student shared and felt that it was an honest overview of the program. 4 applicants per med student.

Wait so the student interview is a group interview with three other applicants? Also how long is the interview?

yup! not sure if all groups had exactly 4 applicants, but the med student interview is small group format. we all answered a few standard interview questions and then the remainder of the time was like a Q&A. i think the interviews were 30 minutes each.

+1 OOS II, came in yesterday! They had a ton of options open for interviews.

Not early July, but marked as complete on 7/19. This whole process has shown me how impatient I am lol

I wouldn't say you're impatient. This process is conveniently designed for maximum stress. After spending half your life preparing for applications, you submit and then are given a 1-year window to hear back from schools. That is a ridiculously large amount of time to patiently wait for an email that you can receive at any point. An email that will most literally change your entire life. Not to mention the absolute lack of transparency about everything.

I find it hard to expect anyone to patiently wait with no neuroticism.

Does anyone know how long it typically takes to hear back after an interview?

During my interview, they mentioned that they would be doing weekly updates for acceptances, holds, and rejections after the interview. The earliest for MD wouldn't be before 10/15.

Anyone that interviewed is it open or closed file? What was your experience like?

Authentication 8:30am to 9:00am
Orientation 9:00am to 10:00am
Potential faculty interview * 10:00am to 11:30am OR 1:30pm to 4:00pm
Curriculum Q & A 12:00pm to 12:30pm
Student Interview* 12:30pm to 1:15pm
Admissions Wrap Up Starting at 1:15pm (optional)

The Faculty interview was solo & open-file but the student interview was closed-file with 2 other interviewees. Interview was casual and low-stress, just have some potential questions (3 per interviewer?) ready beforehand.

It’s an open file interview. It was very relaxed and straightforward. There is a faculty interview and student interview. With the student interview it involved two other interviewees and it eventually evolved into a Q and A after some questions. Very low stress

Did anyone who interviewed hear anything about how to send thank-you notes? My student interviewer shared their email address but I don't have my faculty member's.

On my interview day they told us they aim to send decisions out on Fridays. Maybe we would hear back around 10/21? According to last year's thread, those who interviewed around the end of September started to hear back on Friday 10/29.

I sent mine to the man who led the interview day and he was able to forward it along to the faculty member. Then I emailed the student directly

The faculty member I interviewed with provided me her direct email and I emailed my thank you letter directly. The student interviewer also provided an email and I emailed a thank you letter directly to them as well.

Based off of last year's thread, R's were sent out as early as 9/24. It looks like they can be sent out fairly soon, but that remains to be seen. Wishing the best for everyone!
Did you see based off last year anyone that made it off of hold and got an II/A? Or is it basically an R?

It seemed like there were more people who got an A after being deferred post-II than people who got an II after getting a pre-II hold. This process is unpredictable though so anything can happen

I haven’t heard anything yet and submitted early July is it basically a soft R?
