2022-2023 Meharry

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
hey! not trying to be rude but earlier in the cycle i spoke with someone in admissions and they said the lowest they accepted for this year's current M1 class was 497. the year before that was 495.
I think a lot of it depends on how the previous class performed. For example, if the current class doesn't perform as it needed from us, they won't go down from 497, and probably would even increase the cut-off score, regardless if they did MHS or not.

Future Meharrian,

The Offices of Admissions/Recruitment and Financial Aid are pleased to again present "Meharry 101". The spring sessions of Meharry 101 are designed for students who have applied to the School of Medicine at Meharry for the 2023 application cycle.

This 30-minute, live session will address topics such as:

  • Upcoming deadlines (incomplete admission applicants)
  • What to do while you wait for a decision
  • The process for submitting updates
  • Financial Aid matters
  • The next steps after you have been admitted to a program
  • How to approach the search for housing in Nashville

Admissions and Financial Aid staff will also take your questions during the session. After attending, we hope that you understand your next steps and feel more confident about the journey to matriculation at Meharry.

I got that too but it seems i figured its a generic email lol.

EDIT: I withdrew my application due to getting accepted to my top choice PhD program

Okay, now I'm wondering if this e-mail actually means something if not everyone got one. For the people saying they didn't, have you checked your spam? I got it at 1702 EST.

Yes I have checked my spam

Okay, well hopefully it doesn't mean anything. Rooting for you (and me) to secure a spot.

Wasn't the secondary deadline Monday? I'm confused why the email mentions incomplete applicants.

Do you think they would push the deadline? I feel like they are behind some other schools and could be a bit behind schedule. Maybe we will find out on the zoom?

Either way it is nice to get something from the school after so much silence. 🙂

May it's for everyone who completed the secondary. Technically, we applied just not interviewed/accepted yet. It's 250 max registration for the event.

I also got one of these emails today as well but no II yet. Was part of the round of secondaries that were sent in late Nov/early Dec.

For those who got an II, is there a portal where the updates are provided or is it only over email ? (sorry if this has already been asked)

As y'all can imagine, I'm just desperately trying to see if this means something or if I missed an email lol

I also received the email (at 5:30 pm.)

Have they sent this email out in the past?

I did not receive a II, but after combing through previous threads, I believe II's are only over email, portal will not update. A's appear via portal and email I believe.

Hey everyone! I completed all meharry interviews over December 19-21, and was told I would hear back in the second or third week of January. It is now almost the end of the third week of January and I haven't heard anything and am extremely on edge. Has anyone else interviewed already?

I think it does. When were you complete? Maybe it has to do with that.

I received the secondary 11/28 & submitted it the same day

I’m not sure it means anything only because they held a Meharry 101 session before they sent out the secondaries and only a batch of students received that link as well. I attended that first session and it was just general info about the school. I didn’t get a link for it this time either.
I have been complete here since early October. 😔

Don’t think the email matters, it said it’s for anyone who applied. -a friend didn’t submit her secondary yet and still got the same email and zoom link.
Oh okay that’s good to know thanks! I’ll still be holding out hope then

They interview pretty late into the cycle right? Since they send secondaries so late?

I'm a little worried about this... of course I'd be ecstatic about attending and would 100% say yes, it's just that thinking it's a possibility that I'd only find out in June and then have to rush to sell my home to find a new one in such a short time is a little worrisome for my family and me.

Will federal student loans still be offered even though they now have a probationary accreditation status?
