Hey since people seem to keep asking and I don’t think the earlier link was working I made a GroupMe for accepted students:

You're invited to my new group 'NYIT Class of 2027' on GroupMe. Click here to join: GroupMe

Can’t wait to meet you all!

Are there any in-person campus tours currently offered at NYITCOM?

I’m registered for the virtual information session today at 1:30, but haven’t gotten any emails providing zoom links… also do we need to wear suit and tie to these?

Is it normal to have to pay for a background check? Just got an email from NYITCOM about Certiphi background check that costs around $140 which seems like a lot.

I gotta pay $70 for everything at the school I got accepted it, including background check and drug screening

Does paying the deposit and the background check make you bound to the school or can you still withdraw later on?

I’m sure you can withdraw later. Also for anyone who knows: Do you have to do a drug screening too for NYITCOM or is that only for clinical rotations?

Hi there! First year here at NYITCOM! To answer some questions, you are not bound to the school with the deposit and there is no drug screening, only background check. The deposit money gets subtracted from your tuition. For those that have an interview with NYITCOM, it is a blind interview in terms of your number stats. The interviewers do have access to your personal statement and activities section of your applications. The interviewers usually have a set of questions they ask each applicant. In terms of in-person tours, I don't think the school is currently doing any tours at the moment as the new student ambassadors are undergoing training, but they may do them later on in the spring. If anyone has any other questions, feel free to dm me!

I wanted to ask if there are any accepted students for the January interviews? I guess the decision would come in mid February but I wanted to know!

51x MCAT, 3.8x cGPA/sGPA, IS, ORM
Application complete in early September. Received my II for Old Westbury in mid December. Interviewed in mid-January. Think I did pretty decently. It didn't feel the most conversational, but my interviewer seemed to like me. She told me that the qualities I expressed in my personal statement were good qualities, and she responded to my "thank you" quickly over the weekend.
I know I probably won't hear back until mid-February, but I am neurotically checking my junk mail every day. I really really really wanna go here! NYITCOM is unequivocally my #1 school, and I would accept immediately if I receive the A.

Does anyone know if January decisions came out ?
Quick update- I interviewed first week of December and still haven’t heard anything back. I don’t think I’ve seen any evidence of people getting decisions since mid December (and assuming those were for ppl who interviewed in October/November?). Still anxiously awaiting any news and would love to know if anyone has actually gotten decisions more recently.

Same its been almost 2 months since I heard back from my Int. wondering if they sent others WL/R decisions?

Ok that is when I interviewed as well. Hopefully good news soon.

3 months since my interview and haven’t heard anything. Not sure what to expect at this point, considering sending a letter of intent

I have a few questions:
1. How does the interview process go? Is it tense and a lot of pressure or how did it go?
2. After interview, how long does it take to hear back from the school about acceptance/waitlist/rejection. I also interview in February so I'm not even sure if I even have a decent chance at acceptance...

they say ideally 2-8 weeks for a reply

They said at my pre-interview session that it may even take up to the summertime. Mine was in January. I think that they hold different standards depending on when your application came in and was evaluated with a decision by the committee.

I think last thread decisions came out around 2/17
I established a good connection with my interviewer back in December and plan to email her this week to see if she would have any info about decisions- she seemed genuinely invested in my cycle and told me to “let her know of any news I receive.” I’ll report back soon if she has any news!

Does anyone know if there is any groupchat/Facebook group for accepted students? Thanks in advance!

do we know if they actually accept students in February or is it all just WL?
From what I have seen on SDN 2021-2022, tons of people got waitlisted around mid to late February. I would've given myself an aneurysm if I saw a WL and didn't realize that everyone is getting WLed.
