What have people seen as the typical time between secondary submission and interview invite if you get one? Apologies if this has been asked before.

I’m willing to bet there are about a dozen members who posted the exact dates they submitted their secondary and received their interview in this thread. I normally read through the thread and write down the dates and username on a post it.

It was about 3 weeks for me…

+1. Have you received an actual email. I just found out on my portal.
No I haven’t received the actual email. I saw it in my portal as well. I was really disappointed because I felt like my interview went pretty well. I guess waitlist is better than rejection…

I’m hoping after Dec. 14 there will be major movement on the waitlist.

That’s how I felt. I thought my interview went really well. I think they meet afterwards and go over your whole app again and interview performance is only part of the ranking. I think demographics plays a role too depending on types of people they’ve already taken (hobbies/interests etc as well) since they want a well rounded class. We’ll just have to wait it out.

Has anyone been able to reach them via phone? Neither number from google/their website is working for me. It either doesn't connect at all, or it rings until it hangs up.

I've called the number under their emails a few times and it'll work!

Does it usually take ~2 weeks to hear back after an interview? I interviewed here 12/6 and this school jumped to my choice. I'm just hoping it doesn't bleed into the new year to hear something

I heard back around 1.5 weeks, I think you should hear back (hopefully) before Christmas!! Feel free to PM me if needed!

When I go to my Noorda portal, it only shows like a “thank you for applying” page, even though I interviewed on Nov 30. Is this what everyone else is seeing?

got an email saying "Thank you for submitting your application to Noorda-COM! We wanted to let you know that, upon review, your application has been placed on hold because your total MCAT score and/or one or more subsection scores fall below our preferred minimums, which are a total score of 500 with subsection scores of 125.

For the current cycle, we will accept MCAT scores for exams taken from January 2019 through September 2022; tests taken outside this timeframe will not be considered. If you retake the MCAT by the end of September 2022 and receive higher scores, please release them to AACOMAS so we may review your application further at that time." Is there anyway that I can get them to reconsider the hold as it is past the date for me to take the MCAT. My score is 497 :'( but it did say preferred.

do you think it's worth sending a letter of intent? or does hold in this case just mean rejection since there's nothing I can do at this point

oh wow that’s interesting, maybe because it’s later they’re more selective? I had a 498, with a 123 sub score and was accepted

usually letter of intent is after interview or when on waitlist. before its just letter of interest but i would probably only send one if you can include some updates.
it does seem that later in the cycle is when they do this. cuz i do know people got in with lower then a 497 this cycle but they applied early.

When are the people who are accosted and intended on going planning on securing the loans and planning on apartment hunting?

Securing loans, probably applying for them in January/early Feb. Then house hunting in May. We have to go early so my fiancé can secure his work and my littles can get set up before I start school. We don’t wanna just go in July and have to be getting settled at the same time I’m starting school. That was just our line of thinking and our plan we came up with. Things can always change.

What is that!? lol I keep seeing people mentioning it.
They're talking about Patagonia jackets that a lot of med students have and some med schools get them embroidered, I believe? It's funny because I had these in college but legit had no idea this was a med school thing 😂 I sold mine at some point, I don't even remember why. The full zip looks like this:

Probably going to apply for my loans with sallie mae in late January/February. Planning to move to the area sometime in June so I can settle in before classes start.

Have any accepted students received info on doing the drug screening and background check? I don't want to miss any deadlines.

Hey everyone! I’m more than likely going to be attending here in the future and would love to discuss having a potential roommate! I do have a place in mind (Midtown 360) where the rent is approximately $825/mo and it’s 2 bath/2 bed, lots of amenities and is fully furnished (idk about mattress)

I would just hold off and see if you hear anything. I got the exact same message on 8/18/22 pre-secondary. I then got a secondary on 8/27/22. This later turned into an interview invite and acceptance. My highest MCAT was a 496, and I definitely had subsections lower than 125 (can't remember what it was specifically without looking it up).

I also paid my deposit!! Waiting to hear back from Texas schools because match day is in March, but Noorda is currently my top choice out of state!

Are you furnishing through a 3rd party? I toured midtown360, and they mentioned they don't furnish but that they can tell you about companies that do.

For people looking at housing options, I looked into Midtown 360, 200 Cityview and 400 Element. Someone told me about 63 Center while I was in Provo, but I didn't get to tour. Sounds nice though! Of the ones I toured (Midtown360, 200 Cityview, and 400 Element), my favorite was definitely 200 Cityview!

Only thing would be a mattress most likely for the bed which I’ll probably just bring from home! Gonna shoot you a DM rq!

Questions for Current students.

Any current student that can talk about the curriculum and how was it adjusting o this learning style? Any growing pains, or was it smooth? Andddd how much (in general) time a day/week do you have to yourself? Everyone on Reddit makes medical school to be working 80 hours a week :/

Congrats!! were you on the waitlist?
I’m just curious because I’ve seen a lot of people say this and I haven’t been on a waitlist this early in the cycle before. Do schools accept people from the waitlist between now and the Christmas holiday?
