Hey everyone! I got an interview invite on 11/10, but when I went to the calendar, February dates were the earliest availabilities. Have other applicants gotten interview invites around the same time as 11/10 and found earlier dates?

Yeah just pick the soonest date and check everyday for new spots. About 1 week in after my interview invite, I saw dates earlier opening up.

Any current students there that recieve accommodations on tests? Would like to know how accommodating the school is.

checked my informed delivery and it says I'm getting a package tomorrow from Provo, will update y'all if I do get it amidst this snow blizzard

What package? Are they sending something else (not including the accepted students)

I think this may have been asked before but I don’t remember seeing any responses at that time. Any parents on here with young children? What preschools or daycares are you using or looking into? I feel there’s quite a few parents in this program so hopefully that’ll be good for our littles to go through together.

I responded. For private PreK I’m looking into The Waterford School and Rowland Hall.

I'm not attending Noorda next year but I've lived in Provo before and currently live about 30 minutes north. My SIL currently lives in Provo and has been happy with Wasatch Nature School and Raya Grace Music School for her three children. If you're going to live between Salt Lake and Provo, I can give suggestions for preschools in that area too.

Do the loans that the school offers cover the full costs of all 4 years ?

Questions for Current students.

Any current student that can talk about the curriculum and how was it adjusting o this learning style? Any growing pains, or was it smooth? Andddd how much (in general) time a day/week do you have to yourself? Everyone on Reddit makes medical school to be working 80 hours a week :/
Im an OMS1. Curriculum is self paced, so it is perfect if you are disciplined and organize your schedule accordingly. There are times when there are assignments with due dates but not may (maybe every 2-3 weeks). I guess if you are not used to the freedom the curriculum comes with you can get behind very easily (especially if you are a chronic procrastinator like myself). I have a family with young children so I wish I could have 80 hours a week for study but you can excel if you are organized and structure your time accordingly. You do have enough time to study, workout, family time/social time and get at least above average grades. it just takes dedication and planning. (this is coming from a very disorganized person) LMK if you have more questions. im happy to help

Anyone who got accepted recently, would you be willing to share when the deposit date is? Just trying to neurotically gauge when another round of acceptances might be…😅
I believe I read somewhere that acceptances sent out after November have 30 days but those before November only had 15 days, but I can’t find where I read it at to back that up. But I can confirm I received my acceptance 12/15 and deposit is due 1/26.

Thank you! Appreciate the response.

Does anyone know when accepted student day is? The portal says TBA- Spring 2023
The last two accepted student days were in April.

Been a minute since I've checked this page, I'm a current 2nd year if anyone has any questions for current students! Congrats to everyone who has been accepted so far! We look forward to you joining our Noorda Community 🙂

I felt really good! It was conversational and I felt I was able to convey who I was beyond my application. Super excited to hear the decision! But I'm guessing earliest news would be next Friday?
Same here! I felt more like I was talking to a colleague than an interviewer, which was nice! Now to wait for Friday to see if they will have decisions out! Wishing you the best!! You got this!!

I have a question about clinically rotations. Will we need to schedule and set up our own?

Nope! Noorda has all core rotations set up within 45 minutes of campus. For forth year they also have elective rotations available locally. They can help us organize audition rotations and sub-Is at programs we are interested in for residency.

I asked admissions this but would also love to ask a student: for fourth year can you go away to a different state?

Just want to clarify your question, do you mean completely relocate and do your electives/audition rotations in the same region outside of Utah? I'm honestly not sure if that will be allowed. Admissions might have more info on that.

But if your asking about doing audition rotations and sub-I rotations out of state, then yes absolutely. They will support us in planning those rotations. I believe our EM rotation will still be in UT because it is considered a core rotation, but will be reserved for 4th year. Also whatever electives you have left after matching, those would be in UT (I think....).

Hopefully that answers your question 😆

it was the second part of what you mentioned! Doing audition rotations and sub-I rotations OOS (for ex: Neurology), would just love to come back home for a year to rotate (which I understand is 4th year in which those audition rotations would be present)! Hopefully that clarifies!

For those who interviewed on the 18th are we expecting to hear anything back by this Friday? Or next week? I know typical time frame is 9-14 days for most people.
I could honestly see this going either way. I want to say there were people on this thread early on that heard back after a week and a half. Personally I interviewed October 4th and heard back October 14th. Good luck!

Going in April to look at apartments! Hope to see some of y’all there!

1/18 interviewees! Tomorrow will be the earliest day we will know! Just wanted to pop in and say good luck to all! This is our dream! No matter the news, we will become doctors, one way or another! 🙂

Ok yeah! I think there are a handful of students that are going to try and do something similar! I don't know Noorda's exact policy on that but it should be manageable to accomplish. Here's what the student catalog says about fourth year:

"Fourth year consists of one (1) required Emergency Medicine clerkship, six (6) elective clerkships and two (2) or more subinternships for a total of nine (9) or more blocks and spanning no less than 36 weeks (35 semester credits). Required third and fourth-year clinical clerkships are completed at designated training sites. Student are supported by the Department of Clinical Education in arranging elective clinical clerkships and sub-internships. Students also take two (2) semesters of Core Entrustable Professional Activities (CEPA). At the conclusion of the fourth-year students complete a capstone course allowing for completion of compulsory scholarly activities pursued during CEPA."
