that's so reassuring!! how early did you apply this year? given the reapplicant, ik earliest is best, but just wondering when you were "complete"

Got secondaries done around the same time this cycle and the last prob both late July

Do you think it make that much of a difference when you submit I submitted in mid to late October. Do you think that left me at a disadvantage

Interviewed on 2/8 and still no news.... 🙁
Anyone else in the same boat? Should I reach out and ask for updates?

Interviewed on 02/12 and still nothing. I’m on one other WL for an MD school but no acceptances. I’m giving it until next Friday and if I don’t have an A by then, I’m gonna start really grinding out AMCAS for next cycle.

Does anyone have insight into the likelihood of having a campus reassignment go through?

Hi! If there are any current students (or anyone familiar with Pennsylvania geography lol) lurking can anyone speak to whether or not it would be feasible to commute to the Reading campus from Philly??

not a current student but a PA resident. technically possible but i would not advise it. you would definitely need a car if you commuted

There are students every year who commute from the Philly area/other areas of PA for various reasons. It's do-able if you are willing to take the time, it's about one hour, one and a half if there's traffic. The only area you'd likely hit traffic is the highway in/out of the city to King of Prussia, which is about the first half hour of the commute.

However, most students would then choose to move closer for clinicals because time is a precious commodity and most of the Philly students move out of the city to their respective sites anyways lol

Almost impossible; the only cases are usually religious in nature, being a primary caregiver, medical reasons, etc.

There have been people who have used the "I don't have a car" reason to want to change campuses every year, and that isn't an excuse - in fact, a lot of Philly students opt to have a car anyways. Third and fourth year you're REQUIRED to have a car anyways, no matter your campus assignment, just because of the location of all clinical sites (even the ones in Philly). It's not *necessary* to have a car in your Philly preclinical years but there are limitations to even accessing your HAP/HOP sites without the ability to carpool.

I am still waiting to hear back and interviewed 2/8. I submitted a letter of intent to my state school where I am waitlisted at so I cant submit a letter of intent to Drexel. Should I still contact them with a letter of interest?? or is that even a thing? Im just tired of waiting and dont know what to do.

You could send a letter of interest but I think it may be better to wait until u get your primary decision first tbh.

Accepted into MD/MPH joint program but withdrawing today from both seats because the financial aid is causing psychic damage to me.

I know there's a lot of stress going around but you are all amazing for suffering through this process and will be amazing physicians. Good luck everyone!!

bc it's so expensive? or the delays lol

the fact that this school thinks its okay to "defer" - which literally means they haven't made a decision yet - as an actual decision still boggles my damn mind....

Is a deferral a waitlist?

No. A deferral is better than a waitlist. My understanding is that they see you as a person who they would definitely accept, but need to hear more from you in terms of interest. (Letter of Intent)
Keep in mind that this cycle has been very delayed because of FASFA and there are still applicants who are holding on to more than one acceptance if they get off a waitlist and are waiting on financial aid decisions.

That's so interesting thank u for explaining. I hope there's spots for March interviewees haha.

So March interviewees are probably going to hear mid June right?

Have there been recent A's or are they just deferring everyone from hereon out? Also, are there current students who are willing to give me a tour of the campus? Please send me a dm. Thanks!
