2023-2024 Emory

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
do they send Rs later than As? I’ve fully convinced myself I’ve been R/WL Bc i haven’t received anything yet 🥲
nope. Im also signed up for informed delivery with usps and I didnt see anything in the email this morning. So either it’s an R or just not close enough yet🤣

They don’t send Rs or WLs until the end of the cycle, you get reconsidered every month if you don’t get an A

but also like yes being nervous is normal but OOS letters are coming im sure!! they were probably only mailed out yesterday morning so they have a long way to travel. Maybe tmrw or Thursday!
damn, what about the portal update ? is that just for As ? on Wednesday ? Thanks!

Looking at old SDN discussions for Emory, it seems like anyone who got the A will have their portal updated (on Wednesday). For OOS, you’ll probably see the portal A before receiving the letter

If we didn’t get a letter yesterday IS, is there still some hope?
I’m sure some people IS didn’t get a letter yesterday. USPS may have only been able to deliver to some addresses close to Emory! I’m gonna just check my portal tomorrow because it should update for everyone with an A.

I'm signed up for informed delivery and received a large envelope yesterday that I did not see in my informed delivery update. I thought it was from Emory but nope 😢 ...that's also on me though since I live a few states away lol.

For those with acceptances, did your packet show up on USPS Informed Delivery?

I heard that if you don’t get an A in the first round it is unlikely to get one in later rounds. Anybody or current students can speak to how true this is?
M2 at Emory. This is purely my speculation, but Emory tends to over accept, and the further along in the cycle, the fewer seats available. they are more likely to give seats to those they recently interviewed vs someone from a few interviews back. but it's not impossible. most of my peers that I've talked to were accepted directly after their interview.

Thanks for the reply. Do you know anyone personally that has gotten an A after a few rounds?

Can the people with As let us know when the portal updates for y’all please!!

They definitely have plenty of interviews left to send. At the start of October, they'd only interviewed about 90-100 people out of 650 that they interview, and there's many months of committee meetings still scheduled! I believe they interview through February

Didn’t hear back :/ from them. Anybody else in same boat. Is it suffice to say we’re done and should focus on other schools?

Also congrats to those who got in!

Didn't hear back either. 🙁 Emory was my top choice so it's upsetting, but it is what it is.

Everyone on my interview day seemed amazing so I'm not surprised - congratulations to those who got accepted!

Just checked my portal today. Noticed that there is now a tab for "application updates", which I thought Emory said they didn't want? Haven't been invited to interview, secondary complete 8/3. Was this update tab always there/am I tripping?

I have that tab too. Not sure if it's always been there, but I have also not been invited for an interview

This may be a stupid question but I was looking through my application today and I noticed that the program selection page was not complete (I'm applying MD/MPH) but I've received the application complete and supplemental application submitted emails. I can still click the submit button on the program selection page but I'm not sure. Advice?

They allow you to change your program selection at any time, so I do not think there is harm in submitting it. Did you complete the MD/MPH supplemental essay? If not, I would guess that you will need to do that before being officially "complete." Also, since I was on autopilot and did not indicate MD/MPH on my AMCAS primary app, double-check to make sure you did apply to Emory as MD/MPH. I realized that I had failed to do so a few weeks after submitting the secondary so I am not sure if it affected my completion date.

Okay sweet, I double checked AMCAS and I did apply MD/MPH and I did complete the MPH supplemental. I think I should be good, thanks so much!!

i didn’t check MD/MPH on amcas but i interviewed MD/MPH. you don’t get admitted MD/MPH, it’s something you decide on in like M3 year i think.
