2023-2024 Vanderbilt

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
My friend told me about this waffle place in Nashville...don't tell vandy but that's the real reason I'm paying $97 for a frontier flight with an 11 hour layover to go there 🤩
Omg, I tried to go to the waffle place during my visit and there were 50+ people in line ... nope-d right outta there. In fact all the "big" recommendations had lines...to be fair it was a Sunday but a 2 hour wait for waffles ...

Where do you find the info on in-person tour? I am invited for an interview, but couldn't find anything on it.

Don't worry. I'll let them know I'm an SDN influencer and they'll push me past the line

Then what's the point of visiting before getting an A? You might end up spending time/money traveling just end up with a WL or R. the visits make more sense for the texas TMDSAS system because you have to rank your schools before the match.
I was headed there anyways to meet family but yea I'm gonna hold off most visits till the As.

There isn't an in person tour connected with the interview day. At some point they will send an email about optional opportunities to visit campus. Their wording makes it pretty clear they are going out of their way to avoid bias and not going won't hurt.

That’s true for most people but I believe Nashville already offered @toastedbutter the key to the city.

Have any R's been sent out? I think there might be something wrong with my portal but I can't tell. If anyone was rejected can you PM me a screenshot of your portal? Does it still say application is ready?

Anyone going to the in person tours? If so how are y'all dressing? All the way formal, smart casual, or something else?

Also has anyone heard from the admissions email lately? Haven't gotten a response to anything I've sent.
I got a response from them almost right away after sending my second follow-up. I would send them another if you haven't already

For those of you who are waiting and asking about low stats, I am way below 520 and 3.9, and I am also an international, it was really a miracle to receive their interview for me that no words can really describe it. Anyone in Baltimore area or just though Zoom that are down to do some interview practice let me know! II 11/27.

Via the VUSM website, it says "We are happy to receive updates to your application and add them to your application file for review and consideration by our admissions committee once your application has been verified by AMCAS. Please send this additional information in a Word document or PDF file via email to [email protected]. We ask that you limit your updates to those that are significant and relevant to your application."

I emailed mine to admissions back in mid October but it has not yet been added to my application file. There is a space on the secondary portal to upload your own letters of update/interest. Are people uploading their letters there or waiting for admissions to add it to their file?

I sent in an update this morning and followed the guidance on the portal: "For changes that cannot be made in AMCAS, you can upload it directly to your file as a pdf and email us with your AAMC ID Number to let us know of the change." So I uploaded a PDF and emailed them to let them know that I had done so

For the social hours/ deep dives, does it have any impact on your admission whether or not you attend? I've been trying to make one before my interview date (mid Dec) but usually have work at that time. Thank you - I appreciate any insight anyone might have!

Can anyone tell me around when their interview day ends? Would it be like 5 pm CST or is it earlier?

You can check the interview tab on the portal for the agenda.
There is a morning and an afternoon schedule; morning one ends at 1:15pm and the afternoon one ends at 3:30pm

Worth it to send a letter of continued interest if interviewed back in early September? I know that there are some December decisions coming soon.

I did, but I paired it with some helpful updates to my app.

Anyone know if updates should go to portal or email? Their website says email, but they have the option to update on the portal. Thanks! 🙂

I uploaded an update letter to the portal over a month ago, and emailed the admissions office the same day to let them know. If i didn’t get confirmation via email, is it worth checking in with them again to make sure they are aware? Or should i just assume they have seen it? Anyone else have something similar happen?
