Hard to say cause it's difficult to judge yourself objectively... I feel like interviewing in person definitely helped, but I'm also very passionate about all my activities and came into my interviews confident and prepared. Didn't shy from making jokes and just tried to be myself. Went on many tangents with my interviewers about shared interests and probably spent about quarter of each interview just shooting the **** about things minorly, or not at all, related to medicine. Made an effort to remember pleasantries (asking how their day's been, thanking them for opening doors, thanking them for their time, etc.). Asked really good questions at the end of the interview. You get the interviewers' names in advance, so I spent time thinking of questions that would be informative for me and get them thinking; both of my interviewers commented on this.

That being said, I'm squarely above the average stat range for accepted students at UB, so that may have helped. I also have few ties to the area but demonstrated reasons that their school is a good fit. Did not send thank you letters.
congrats boss. sounds like u nailed it

when did they start pulling from teh WL last year?
also does anyone have any insight as to what % of the WL gets an A?

It seems like they started April 1st, but with the majority starting May 1st. They didn't release any data on what % of the WL gets accepted, but I heard that Buffalo has good waitlist movement (hopefully it is good this cycle), but it varies every year.

And it looks like they started to release decisions earlier so hopefully the movement is big in April!!

hypothetical: waitlisted, LOI sent, already movement on the WL and don’t hear for a while, how wise would it be to contact the school to show continued interest wo being overboard?

I don’t think they have started pulling off, but wanted to see if maybe emailing them or even a call would be smart maybe in like end of april or may if i already know they started wl movement and i haven’t heard yet, but also don’t want to come off as overbearing if tht makes sense

Yeah bro idek it’s so hard these days to know these things. I don’t think they can patronize you for asking but they might just say that they have no information to give you.

I think they will release decisions later today for this last section of the interview cycle! Good luck everyone and ALL WL PEOPLE LETS PRAY, WE GOT THISSSS
Oops I was wrong ig 😭 I thought it would be the same turnover as the last decisions since those were so quick
