2024-2025 Chicago Med (Rosalind Franklin)

Congrats on the A! 🎉

RFU has a pdf with some suggestions for off-campus housing on their Website. Also according to Reddit, Lake Bluff, Lake Forest, and Knollwood are the best areas to live, and to stay away from North Chicago and Waukegan. I’m not from the area so no idea how true that is. Probably a better question for the admitted student GroupMe because there are some current student ambassadors there.
Have you heard much about the "off campus" student housing at the Woodlands? The apartments look fine, but curious if anyone had heard otherwise?

Did anyone else on the waitlist check their portal and notice their "status update" section with the WL letter is gone?

This happened to many others earlier in the cycle! The status update disappears and you’ll only see the checklist.

Anyone else here withdraw before the deadline and still hasn’t received their deposit refund yet? Not sure how long it’s supposed to take but it’s been about 4 weeks

Anyone have any insight on the summer jumpstart program ? Worth doing?
I am curious about that too. My student ambassador said they did not do it and it did not seem to make the transition any more difficult, but that is only one person. When they say "in person", do you know if they mean physically or is it set up for zoom access?

Theyre soooo slow. They double charged me for my secondary and it took weeks to settle. Just send a gentle follow up every week or two and theyll get to it eventually

Got off the waitlist! So exciting! I already found a place for the school I was gonna go to now I gotta figure out what to do…

Anyone considering doing Jumpstart? I’m considering it but need to find out housing logistics for the month

How do you withdraw from the waitlist formally? I changed my response to No for the Alt List Re-Confirmation but it wasn’t reflected on AMCAS.

got the A today after emailing them I was going to withdraw my app from the WL bc I got off the WL for my top choice. LM 68, interviewed 1/12, WL in Feb.

Questions for all A students.

Is anyone getting any aid? Scholarships or grants? Some of my CTE for other schools is June 1st, so I'm not sure if they are going to release anything....

they said we would be getting aid packages in June but haven't provided any actual dates yet

So if I CTE at another school, then I find the aid package at this school is better, can I technically drop the first school and take up this offer? The FA office has given me not even a slight indication that they're gonna give aid (scholarship) other than loans obvio

Idk if you can come back after you CTE somewhere else. When I CTEd to CMS I automatically got emails from my other schools saying they had gotten the notification etc

Oh! So it's like a gamble with schools with earlier CTE deadline. If u don't mind me asking, did you get an aid/scholarship package?

Dr. Ellison at admitted student weekend said scholarships is very limited (like ~6 max for the incoming class). So I have pretty much assumed my package is going to be all government aid
