2024-2025 Chicago Med (Rosalind Franklin)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Is their waitlist ranked? Was waitlisted back in Feb but haven't heard any news beyond confirming my continued interest in staying on the alternate list.
it is ranked, but they dont disclose your spot on the ranking

I interviewed on 3/25 but I haven't heard anything (WL, A, or R) since then. I know they said they would send a decision by May 1st so there's still time, but I just feel so impatient haha 🤣 Is anyone else in the same situation?

Has anyone been able to contact the office of admissions or office of financial aid by calling the numbers on the portal? I've been trying to call them for weeks but no one has ever picked up or called me back, even after receiving an A. Is this normal or just me? A little concerning tbh... :/

Have you tried emailing them? They normally respond pretty quickly. Also they are known for giving essentially no aid. They have very limited scholarship opportunities.

Im confused, so RFU has an alternate list AND a waitlist? Also what does ASW mean. Do waitlist students have a higher chance of getting an acceptance?

Alternate List (AL) is the same thing as WL, that’s just how they call it. ASW was the admitted student weekends, and some AL students got invited to that. We are assuming that those who were invited to ASW were at the top of the AL (since it’s ranked) and a few of them have already gotten the A since then.

Likely true, I was waitlisted, got invited, then accepted.

i’m in the same boat. i interviewed first week of march (3/4) and i haven’t heard anything back not even a WL. but hopefully will hear back this week 🙂

I’m curious... Is there a reason why a large chunk of applicants that are getting off the WL are from late interviews compared to early interviews. Curious because there are a decent number of applicants that got on the WL back in Oct/Nov

Those who have been getting the A, are you getting an email to check your portal? WL on 2/18, lower stat student

Not sure but based on the previous posts; I don’t think they were accepting a lot of students in Feb/March/beginning of April. For some reason people were being placed on AL

Has anyone with an A received anything in the mail? I know they sent notebooks after II but wondering if we're going to get anything post-A (even just an A letter)

+1 OOS A after WL 12/2024! Does anyone know what are good housing options or where to look?
Congrats on the A! 🎉

RFU has a pdf with some suggestions for off-campus housing on their Website. Also according to Reddit, Lake Bluff, Lake Forest, and Knollwood are the best areas to live, and to stay away from North Chicago and Waukegan. I’m not from the area so no idea how true that is. Probably a better question for the admitted student GroupMe because there are some current student ambassadors there.

Before I withdrew I was looking at like deer valley, station 250, and a few others more west of the school or south. Do not go north! Every student like really recommended staying away from northern Chicago!

Do you know why they said to stay away from North Chicago and Waukegan?
