2024-2025 Creighton

May be a dumb question - but do yall know how much weight they put in these interviews? Does it make or break you? Or is it just weighed as another part of your application? My student interview went great, very conversational and enjoyable, but faculty interview was weird. They seemed super stern and cold, and it stressed me out, felt like I didn’t do my best. Can’t stop thinking about it.
My faculty interview was also very weird. Somehow we fell down a rabbit hole about the ethics of a controversial topic (don't ask me how or why; I don't know and felt like I was walking on eggshells with every question he asked). It was not conversational at all and felt very similar to how you described yours. I did NOT feel good about that interview (the student one was causal and great) but I got the A anyway!

TLDR don't try to analyze how your interview went too much! The world works in mysterious ways! Stay confident!🙂

does anyone know if people on the AL have to wait until May at this point to get any more decisions or if it’s rolling?

Im pretty sure the message disappears for some people on Friday- I would check again at the end of the day! I also interviewed that week and my message hasn’t disappeared either so hopefully we hear soon
Checked it again and it's gone. The irony

I have the option to RSVP for admitted students day in my portal, but still have the thank you message, any thoughts on what this may mean?

I have the same thing… and also have my thank you message, but I just interviewed a few days ago. They told our group we would go to committee at the end of Feb.

I’m guessing that if you’ve interviewed, you get the admitted students rsvp, but it doesn’t necessarily mean admit. But, I could be wrong! And I hope I’m wrong! Haha. Cheers to the wait!

For those of you who are admitted or already had the interview, how are you feeling about your campus selection? Nebraska winter and Arizona summer sound equally bad lol and both locations are far from my friends/family. They said we could send switch request till they extend the last few offers and I’m still debating about this.

Would love to hear how you guys made the decision if you considered factors other than weather and proximity from your support system!

As someone from the Midwest, Nebraskas winter is going to be warmer for me anyway haha. Besides, you can always add more layers if you’re cold, can’t do as much in the heat. But this is coming from someone who likes the cold/snow so ymmv

I've also been thinking about this. I chose the Omaha campus (and have been accepted) because I assumed they had more resources/ research opportunities in general. Would also love to hear more insights about campus selection

May not be the best place to ask, but does anyone know what free study resources Creighton provides students?

I choose and accepted to PHX. Biggest thing is I want to be near a coast if not ON a coast. I could see myself living in PHX or moving to Cali for residency/life and what better way to ensure that than to already be in the area and build connections early. Another huge thing for me was that I prefer warm to cold weather. The only negative for me w this school was their research isn't what I wish it was so I'm hoping that there's opportunities at the PHX Mayo clinic etc.

I asked a current student and she told me that the school purchases UWorld and pathoma for Step 1/2. I think it’s included in the tuition though so not sure if you would consider this “free”

My thank you message disappeared today and a few hours later I got the admitted students RSVP! Interviewed the week of 1/13

If your thank you message disappeared but haven't gotten an admitted students RSVP does that mean you're waitlisted 😭😭
More than likely. Seems like Creighton waitlists 90% of their applicants who interview after December, but I do know that there's a lot of WL movement in the summer.

did they mention that during your interview?
No ofc they're not gonna say that directly lol. I know a ton of current students at CUSOM and most of them who actually matriculated were waitlisted first and then accepted May-July!

What time do decisions get released on Monday? My thank you message disappeared, just curious what time I should check the portal tomorrow.

Does anyone know if pre-II rejections have been sent out yet? And if I haven’t heard anything yet should I assume it’ll lead to an R?

Pre-II rejections have not been sent yet, past years have had II's sent mid-late Feb and usually the rejection wave late Feb

On the portal now you should be able to see your campus decision
I think I’m blind but it just says my decision letter and doesn’t specify the campus. I have been invited to the accepted students day for Omaha campus tho? But my preference was phoenix

Nvm I see it now…. I got Omaha even tho o chose phoenix…

Oh dang im sorry! They made it sound like most people would get their preference, I wonder if it’s worth reaching out about it? I’m not sure :/

pause guys I just called admissions they said I should’ve gotten my campus and it must be a mistake. They’re gonna look into it and switch it for me bc as far as the person on the phone knows neither is full so I should’ve gotten my preference-will keep u guys updated if anyone is curious lol

Did anyone send a letter of intent post-ii pre-decision? i want to tell them basically that id attend 100% if i was accepted.

If you are 100% sure you would attend over any other school I don’t see why it would be a bad idea, I don’t think it would hurt your chances of acceptance. From what I’ve read a lot of admissions committees don’t place a huge weight on letters of intent, with a few exceptions like Mayo.

I think the other aspects of your application still would weigh more in the decision process. I didn’t send a post-interview letter at all and I still got an A.

Based on what they said from the interview day, it seems like they greatly welcome any and all update letters and request that you be specific about hours completed and predicted hours in addition to a description, even if it was on your primary application. The justification was that as a strong service-oriented school, CUSOM values applicants sharing their continued participation and interest in service and other clinical/non-clinical opportunities. That being said, while it was recommended, it definitely isn't required. To me it seemed that a letter of intent was not as valuable to the adcom as compared to update letters.

Does anybody who has interviewed have any tips or tricks? Additionally, could anybody shed light on some of their programs and activities that make Creighton special and their scholarships? Wondering if I should complete my interview or stick to the acceptance I already have. Appreciate any and all help!

It was a standard traditional interview, two separate interviews with a student and faculty member. It was VERY laid back and non-stressful. Just know your application well and be prepared to talk about your experiences.

Yes! At my Friday info session, they emphasized that they really appreciate communication and showing your interest. I waited a bit so I could submit both my updates and a letter of intent, and I was accepted. Not sure how much of a major difference it makes, but one big thing I definitely took away from the interview is that they really want students who really want to go there! So, if you do really want to go, I would definitely send one!
