Was I supposed to apply for FASFA already/is it too late? Even tho I haven’t gotten an A…
I was told in an interview at another school just to submit the fafsa even if you haven't gotten in yet to make sure there isn't a delay if you do get inWas I supposed to apply for FASFA already/is it too late? Even tho I haven’t gotten an A…
I think the second look day being this weekend may be delaying some decisions this week. I didn't see anyone report a rejection on Tuesday so who knows what Friday will look like.Has anyone heard back this week?!
This is correct, you should file ASAP, especially with the cuts that have been happening to the department of Ed.I was told in an interview at another school just to submit the fafsa even if you haven't gotten in yet to make sure there isn't a delay if you do get in
I’m truly getting over it. The more we wait the more I just feel like I’m not a good fit there. Like why would I pay money to go somewhere where I’m not wanted? Also why hasn’t anyone HEARD ANYTHING THIS WEEK.Vent Grabage post
Kind of pissed my advisor told me I would "definitely hear back by the end of March". Goes to show you that no one, not even people that know the adcom's by name knows what the hell is going on.
I think that trying to predict how many acceptances are left is a waste of energy but just wanted to share what was told to me on my interview date. I was told they would try to let us know before the end of March and that most decisions in April would consist of waitlists and rejections. Still haven't heard back and staying hopeful but being realistic 🙂
But she also lied about us getting updates post interview within 4-6 weeks..whether that be an A or that they’re still looking at applications…which they haven’t sent 💩+1 Dean Kedian told us at 12/18 interview similar thing. She didn’t say March as the deadline for straightaway A, but she said in April it’s mostly WL/R. The closer it gets to 4/30 more likely R > WL
I'm wondering if things have been disrupted this cycle with the administration cutting research funding... It could be that they're more behind than usual but this is just me speculating, no idea what's actually going through their mindsBut she also lied about us getting updates post interview within 4-6 weeks..whether that be an A or that they’re still looking at applications…which they haven’t sent 💩
Im trying to remain this hopeful as the rest of my apps have been given an RI'm wondering if things have been disrupted this cycle with the administration cutting research funding... I feel you I'm also sitting on one WL from a school with practically no movement... At this point just preparing to re-apply and trying to enjoy spending time with my familyI

My only thing is I don’t think I’d be able to reapply this upcoming cycle..I don’t have significant changes to my app and honestly don’t want to reapply with the same stuffI feel you I'm also sitting on one WL from a school with practically no movement... I don't know what your application looks like but you never know! I'm trying to view this unplanned extra gap year as a chance to save money and pay off loans lolMy only thing is I don’t think I’d be able to reapply this upcoming cycle..I don’t have significant changes to my app and honestly don’t want to reapply with the same stuff
Probably not? Since everyone's app still goes through the main committee anyways and I'm not sure if getting accepted/rejected from these tracks has any influenceDo you think the likelihood for all R’s in April is slightly different for LEAD and PURCH?
No from what I remember your app goes through Lead/Purch committee first, and regardless of whether they say yes or no the main committee still has the final say. Theoretically you could get accepted to Lead/Purch, but if it's a no from the main committee it's ultimately an RWait I thought LEAD and PURCH don’t go through the main committee unless they send your file back saying you’re a good fit for med school, but just not the regional tracks?
I really hope future pre-meds look at this thread and see just how messy UMass' admission's process is. Really wish I had known this before getting my hopes up in September lol
Even worse cause I thought I did good in my MMI, apparently notSame I would’ve not chosen the earliest interview date as is common practice. Wish I took 1-1.5 more months to practice my MMI
Sadly, I spoke to my pre-health advisor, and she said there will be no movement till April 30th, when students decide to commit, and then schools can see remaining spots open. That being said, who knows what to believe what Umass does. Going to spend my time applying to new jobs/coming up with plan B,C,D... lol
Time to crash out togetherguess it's another week with no response...
Thank you for looking into that. My soul has been stolen by this atrocious process but I will try to get it back lolFor the past two cycles/threads that I’ve checked, the first week of April = nothing bc probably adcom is occupied with Second Look. Then, the next 3 Fridays in April were WL (reported, at least. No idea about R). Finally, the day before April 30 or a few days before, the remainder of the post-II Rs are sent out.
I would expect the pattern to follow like this. Hope everyone still waiting on this thread gets some rest, do something that replenishes your soul, etc.. see you all next Friday.
thanks for reporting back from the inside🫡If this gives anyone hope, at accepted students day they said that the 2029 class is still not full and they still plan to enroll 225 people in the class.
and just like that my hopes have gone back up again! thanks for sharing. If this gives anyone hope, at accepted students day they said that the 2029 class is still not full and they still plan to enroll 225 people in the class.
Does anyone know how full the class is currently? If this gives anyone hope, at accepted students day they said that the 2029 class is still not full and they still plan to enroll 225 people in the class.
There were ~100 accepted students at accepted students day. There are 151 people in the group chat and 198 people in the facebook, but some current students/administrators are in both.Does anyone know how full the class is currently?
This is more transparency than what adcom would tell us. 😊 thank you so muchThere were ~100 accepted students at accepted students day. There are 151 people in the group chat and 198 people in the facebook, but some current students/administrators are in both.
