Thank you so much!!! This cycle really is so so long 😢
oh yes, lol, you can get interviews all the way up until February or March. I would say around December is sorta the panic zone/when you should be considering it less likely to get an II, but still not impossible

Anyone know if the MMI for this school has any questions that are not scenarios? (e.g. school mission, your experiences, etc.)

I was wondering the same thing! I interview at the end of the month and it will be my first MMI.

Hi there. I interviewed already but interviewees sign a document stating we cannot share interview questions. I assume that translates to also not sharing the type of questions.

Did anyone get the email today re: small group discussions on Sept 16th, but when they went into the applicant portal they could not find the link?

In the same boat as you! Maybe it's the same Zoom Link as the Q&A Sessions?

This may be a dumb question, but for anyone attending the admissions session tonight, are you dressing in formal attire? I was planning on wearing a shirt and tie but was unsure if there was some sort of standard they may be looking for. Thank you!

Do you mean the breakout sessions? Someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure it’s non-evaluative/optional and informal. I am going to dress casually but appropriately.

Yes, I was referring to the Special Topics session tonight. Can you tell I'm overthinking everything about this cycle lol

The interview is just a standard 8 station MMI right? Have the afternoon session today and just doing some last minute prep

How was your experience with the interview? I know we cannot share questions or scenarios, but I wanted to know how people are feeling about it. I interview on 9/24!

Really good, felt like a standard MMI. Just practice and you'll do great

I've just heard that I'm considered to be IS rather than OOS as a sibling lives in Massachusetts- actually very close to the medical school.
I've not received an II as yet even though my secondary was submitted 7/16. Will this change my odds, or was the application considered as an IS? Any opinions?

Has anyone else IS submitted in July not heard from Umass yet? Getting nervous since this was my best shot

App complete by 7/9 and still radio silence. Hope we both get invites soon! Im also IS with LM 78.

Does anyone know if sending a letter of intent will help?
Letter of intent is only meaningful after an interview-

For anyone who already interviewed, do they allow applicants to write out their thought process during the 2 minutes of prep time before discussing the prompt with the interviewer?

Could you explain how you determined you were considered in state? I also have a sibling in MA and per the secondary app’s determination was considered OOS (I live in New England).

Nevermind, I see what you mean per the UMass website. If you filed for residency with the school as OOS and want to fix it, I would email the school. It says your sibling needs to be a MA resident for 7 consecutive years for you to qualify.

That's what was used as the criterion. However, the determination was only completed a few days ago, so the question remains- have they been assuming that I'm in state prior to the determination, or out of state. After all, claiming to be in state is one thing, but actually being verified, is another.

When you completed your secondary and the IS/OOSS determination, they should have sent you an email saying which one you're being considered as. If your determination said that they deem you as OOS, and you'd like it to be changed to IS, then you need to email the school (email contact is in the determination letter). Whatever that determination says is how they will perceive you during the application cycle; in-state applications have a higher chance of receiving an interview and getting accepted because they make up about 70% of the class each year.

Overall, I think I understand what you are trying to say, but I apologize if I misunderstood.

do we think another batch might be coming soon? ik cycletrack isn't 100% reliable, but looks like a good proportion of IIs last year were sent out the last week of september/first week of october. IS and losing my mind 😍

I really hope so! I also have noticed they're kind of overdue for sending some (not just from cycletrack, but checked last year's thread for around these dates).

Idk if you know but someone put their II as 8/16/25 so if you are looking at your school list the most recent II will say 8/16
I got my II 9/25

I noticed that, which is unfortunate lol bc it's so misleading - even so, I think there were multiple waves of IIs sent out the last week of Sept/first week of Oct last year so hoping for more!

Does anyone know when they first started to accept students last cycle? I know they aren't able to until 10/15 but was curious if they accept most of their students before the year ends.

Here for your research is last year’s thread 2023-2024 Massachusetts
