They just updated their website and emailed us
5/15 is now the deadline for ALL programs :/

i had a friend who applied last cycle who was completely ghosted until July when she finally received a pre-II R

That is not nice for schools to do so. If class is full and they are done with IIs please send rejections early. We really need AAMC to step in or state regulators to do something about this.

Agreed. Kinda feels like a slap in the face to have spent a lot of time & $$$ to apply and then hear crickets :/ at least let us have closure instead of wondering if we have any chance

Oh, did you get this info from somewhere? For some reason, there has already been people pulled off in January which is weird.

Please, for accepted students, how many accepted students are on discord/telegram or facebook?
 
This is from an email accepted students just got.

“As accepted applicants make decisions regarding their plans to attend, waitlisted applicants will be reviewed and notified of final decisions. With this in mind, we strongly encourage timely communication with our office and foresee waitlist movement will begin around the first week of May.”

Tl;dr just chill until next month
 
Does May 15 CTE date still apply for WL Applicants too? Like so does rhat mean there’s only gonna be like a week or two of WL movement ?

Generally speaking, most As off the WL have their own deadline to commit (could be a couple days after your notification, could be a couple weeks) especially since some As will be given after 5/15
 
What did the text say? I’m on the WL for the MD/MBA program… was it only sent to students with an A or to all students who’ve interviewed?

It was probably sent to students on MD only Waitlist. They’re trying to get more students interested in the MD/MBA program.
 
For people doing the MD/MBA program, I am interested but I have 0 business experience. Is it still something I can do? How about the GMAT / GRE? Did accepted students already take it?

you don't need to take the GMAT/GRE, your MCAT counts for that. You just need to write a PS about why you want to study business and get one LOR, then do an interview. Definitely still something you can do - at the end of the day Miami wants people doing dual degrees. More tuition in their pockets and they get to keep their title as the #1 med school for dual degrees.

GPA:
cGPA: ~3.77
sGPA: ~3.70
Upward trend: ~3.4 freshman year (online school) → ~3.87 avg for the last three years in both cGPA and sGPA

MCAT:
Practice FLs: 510–512 range, taking in May

Research:
1000 hrs in lab at Miller, and other lab
2 pubs, 1 pre-print. 7 in progress — realistically expecting 3–6 total at time of app.

Clinical:
~725 hrs
Blood donation volunteer + community education
Hospital volunteer (patient transport, dispatch)

Founded tutoring program for underserved middle schoolers

Long-term athletic involvement (semi-competitive basketball league)
Volunteer for annual creative/educational event
