No one has reported an II. Even if they have, it is very normal to not hear back from schools this early in the application process.

And when people hear back you will know. I love when my notifications and email get filled with questions asking if anyone heard back yet on threads with zero II's reported lol

Is anyone with a 499 applying to MSU COM?
Im sure people are. However its worth noting that MSUCOM tends to seek applicants with a higher MCAT. Per their successful applicant page, the average MCAT is around 507.
Given that its an average, that doesnt mean getting in with a 499 is impossible, however it may be more difficult.

Yeah! Since it's a top tier DO school I know their average MCAT is a lot higher than other DO schools. I just got my score back and I'm contemplating whether I want to submit my secondary. I finished all 4 essays.

If you have the money, feel you are a good mission fit, and have an otherwise strong application -- go for it! You miss 100% of the shots you dont take :)

I’m expecting that late next week some might start hearing based on previous years.

Probably more. From what I’ve gathered for every 1 thing you see reported here there’s prob 3 more people not posting it because they want to be private or don’t even know this site exists

Thank you for answering questions! What was your first year like? Have you noticed any substantial deficits or improvements from the synergized curriculum with PA students? I read about it but wasn’t sure what its current state is. Thanks again!

Has anyone received a Pre-II rejection yet or does MSU-COM just send out a mass R at the end of the cycle?

Is it a good idea to send letter of interest now? My app has been complete since 07/15 and no response yet.

Too early in the cycle to do this. I’d do it more towards December or January if you have a strong interest with 0 replies anywhere else. Especially if you have good updates to include like new pubs ir a new job or something like that

anyone know how strict their 3 semester units of biochem is? I went to a school that had a quarter system and our biochem class was 4 units but converting that to semester is 2.7.

It looks like last year their first big wave went out the Monday after Labor Day, so I wouldn’t start worrying just yet. I submitted 6/19, hopefully we hear something soon!

ahhh that's so bizarre, i emailed admissions and they said I can't apply with the 2.7 semester credits. I filled out their course evaluator form so maybe someone who deals with this will give me a better answer :(

The first question is a bit broad, is there anything more specific you would like to know about?

I don't remember when we took our first class with the PA students, but I think it's a non factor. From my understanding, they watch the same lectures as us. I'm not sure if they take the same exams as us, though I'd doubt it. For our Reproductive course there were 3 optional group discussions throughout the course where DO/PA students were supposed to work together on a very small assignment but it was no big deal

I also have the same issue with my 4 quarter units biochem course. Did you just ask them about the course evaluation form to fill out from admission?
