I’m honestly not sure. Does anyone know when the last wave of acceptances was? She said it’s a rolling basis and bases on the current class (I’m assuming she’s referring to seat limit). Could they be filled up already?

I really doubt this since based on previous threads they have always had acceptances in December and January. The last wave of acceptances was in late November. I guess it's possible there was another wave of As and none of those people are SDN... but again I think that's unlikely. Also they are still sending out II in January. I still have hope for us!!!

I made a post in r/osteopathic for January NYITCOM updates and got a bunch of replies all saying they haven’t gotten (or heard of anyone getting) As since November 17th so I think they’re just rlly backlogged from Thanksgiving + the holidays. I also know people got IIs this January so if they’re still sending invites I highly doubt they hit capacity. The waiting game sucks but we’re fine dw. No news is good news has become my new mantra haha
 
Hello! I’m an OMS-I. Just thought I’d let y’all know the timeline of my application last year because I see some anxiety. I interviewed last Jan, and like the rest of the people who interviewed in Jan got WLed like 8 weeks post-II. There was TONS of WL movement (for all y’all on the WL). Ended up getting the A in June. People were leaving and joining the GroupMe all the way through July. So don’t lose hope, there is still a lot of cycle to go. We have a massive class, lots of seats to go around.

Also, if anyone has any questions I’d be happy to answer a few if I have time. I don’t know much about stuff other than OMS-I stuff though.

I’m in the OW campus. I can’t speak for the AR campus but that’s a smaller program so I’m not sure if their movement is quite as large as OW’s is. I’m pretty sure that they had the same thing last year where no one who interviewed in Jan+ got accepted but I could be wrong on that.

Did you actually get an official WL notice or were you just ghosted until June? I.e. is everyone still waiting for a response post II basically on a unofficial WL status?

I interviewed Jan 9th, got a WL notification March 19th, got a letter saying “would you like to remain on the WL” May 15th, got accepted June 4th

How does this work if you already have an acceptance at another school though? I was accepted at another school (very grateful) but NYIT is my top choice and would 100% go without a shadow of a doubt, if accepted. If you don’t get notification of an A until June but paid deposit for the other school, would you still be considered for NYIT? I know AACOMAS has that rule where you must only be enrolled for one institution by May I think.

Yeah you can only hold 1 A after a certain date, but you can be on as many WLs as you want. I don’t think NYIT can see that you are accepted elsewhere. I was accepted somewhere else for most of the year, got the A to NYIT, dropped the other one and paid deposit for NYIT, nothing too complicated. It can’t hurt to send a LOI as well to let them you they are your top choice.

  • April 1st: DO schools start reporting to AACOMAS which applicants are holding an acceptance.
  • May 15th: AACOMAS reports to all DO schools which applicants are holding acceptances.
  • You must narrow to one (1) acceptance by May 15th
    • After this date, schools may rescind an offer of admissions to a candidate who has paid deposits to or holds positions at multiple institutions.
    • If the osteopathic medical college chooses to withdraw the candidate from the entering class, the college must give the candidate a minimum 15-day notice. After the 15-day notice, if the candidate does not respond and is withdrawn from a college, the deposit is forfeited, and the seat may be given to another candidate.

Thank you! I wasn’t clear on whether or not you get automatically withdrawn from consideration if you already have an A from another school after that specific date

Were you accepted outside of New York? You don’t need to name the school I’m just wondering if it is out of state 😭

Right, sounds like I might be paying a hefty deposit elsewhere with hopes of losing it to go here. Then moving last min😫 The brutality never ends it seems.

That’s what I was thinking I think they do silent rejections and then they send real rejections in end of application cycle because there has been rejection letter bars on the cycle track website
