I would agree except for the size of the class. When you have 300+ people in the class, there is going to be a good amount of movement, especially compared to other schools that have like 130 people. And from what I remember, last year on the GroupMe when I joined there was a LOT of people who joined and left and joined and left. Lots of turnover. I’m not seeing that on this GroupMe. But then again you could be right and they are WL As. I’ll keep glancing at the chat to keep you guys updated on whether there is a drop.

Can you ask if there was WL movement in the GroupMe?
 
I remember in the previous threads that they sent out an email to confirm interest in remaining on the WL before the movement started but I haven't seen that email and it doesnt look like anyone here has received it. Did they change their procedure?😭

I would love it if they changed their procedure the year I apply and then not tell anyone and I have to find out myself. 😉

Can confirm, this happened last year. They sent that email out and then WL movement started very soon after.
 
One thing they just said was, in the DO realm, yield (accepted applicants matriculating) has been 10-20% higher this year than in the past so there is less overall WL movement.

Also one thing to consider for an explanation is that when ppl refer to high WL movement for DO schools, it usually means collectively. Meaning brand new programs and low ranking schools likely have a ton of movement compared to more known programs like NYIT and others.

The questions show as banners when they answer them. You can look for my question (user name is Vanity Nutrition). My question shows at the beginning (2x) and then he circles back to it maybe 1/2 way through. (When he first answers it, he asks 2 of his contacts. One responds right away, the other responds ~25 minutes later).
 
Nobody who has gotten off the WL has responded in the GroupMe, however one person said that at one point soon after a bunch of people left, like 10 people joined (probably what I was talking about before). That is not confirmation that those are WL admissions but it’s very possible that it was. I will let y’all know if anyone else responds.

But in your year you said they send an email before they started sending out WL admissions. Why would they suddenly stop doing that?
 
I thought we'd hear back today because they sent out an email to let others know cycle closed yesterday. But that doesnt seem to be the case because I refreshed my email so many times today

i saw on last year's thread that they sent the pre-II R email on may 7, then the email reconfirming WL interest was on may 15, so there's a possibility that we'll get that email within a week (fingers crossed). this year it's been pretty unpredictable so there's no way to be sure, but hang in there :')
 
lol I’m curious how close we all are willing to hold off commiting to other programs for? For me I feel like I'm reaching the breaking point threshold ngl.

No clue. I think they will give you the canned answer “we systematically review applicants and you can be taken off the WL at any time.” That’s what they said when I called them when I was in your shoes last year.

that’s exactly what they gonna say lol, it’s giving me ptsd from all my other schools. It’s a seller’s market unfortunately.

Weeks? Woof. At that point you’ll have like 1 day to decide is my guess, because they will want to fill the class asap. I’d guess it’s not weeks though, maybe next week.

If its another few weeks I think im gonna forfeit by end of the month. Ig we play it by ear for now because otherwise I need to start buying furniture and uprooting my life to another state 😭
