Congrats! This might be bad news for those of us who interviewed recently. I hope not
Not necessarily! I mean they continue interviewing this late for a reason. Also they've said they accept anywhere from 50-60% of the waitlist each year so it's definitely not over till it's over!

Hi! I was wondering if anyone knew if they interview throughout May? Wanting to stay hopeful and optimistic 🙂
CONGRATS to everyone who has been accepted!

My prospective roommate and I are still looking. So far, we have found Northbrook that we are interested in. I heard Pleasant Views is not bad either, but I am waiting to tour. There are some options available in the Slack group chat, though.
I saw pleasant view and they were good. I'm between that and southpines

Anybody know when scholarship information will come out?
They sent accepted applicants a scholarship application email in Feb, and the email stated that the deadline for the application was March 31. Tbh idk how this will work especially since they are still interviewing ppl thru April lol, but they haven't sent any updates so far. IIRC I'm pretty sure they said at the interview that scholarships wouldn't go into effect until Spring sem so

How does the Waitlist work? Is it fixed or do they change people’s position based on their preference?

thank you! i've had the application filled out, but wasn't sure about when awards and stuff would come out 🙂

During our interview we were told there is mandatory attendance AT SOME events/lectures. But generally, no, attendance is not mandatory for lectures.

Anyone know if students who don't get accepted off the waitlist get transferred to the GAP program?

Got an email if I am still interested in being on the WL here and declined due to an acceptance at a different program. Good luck to each of you on the WL. I really like OSU-COM and would have been proud to attend here if I hadn't been offered a spot at my #1.

I got a call today, I was informed I got into the GAP program. Good luck to everyone else! Im a bit disappointed but it’s ok.

Myself and a couple of people I know were accepted into the GAP program, if you guys have any questions or want to talk about it feel free to message me.

is the GAP program mainly for "Low stats" Students or is it for anyone who is on the WL?
As far as I know, it is a program you are selected into, I don't think everyone on the waitlist is put into the program because it has a limited number of spots.

Did anything available for move in in July though? They did not when I called. I think pines at southridge is not bad either and i am also looking into some duplex

Has anybody recently withdrawn their WL or Acceptance from here since yesterday was the deadline to commit to AMCAS Schools

+1 pre II R OOS, does anyone know if we can still qualify for their other pathways to the school? like msbs or direct pathway?

Still have not been interviewed or denied, will I ever hear anything lol
Hi, third-year med student here. Our interview season is over now, our last interview day was back in April. If you haven't interviewed yet, then this is essentially a soft R until you get the official confirmation (probably in July). If you have other A's from other schools or are on a waitlist, I would focus your effors there, aside from that I'd start getting ready to reapply next cycle at this point. If you're on the waitlist, then there is still hope; people come off the WL as late as July for our school. If anyone has any questions about OSU or med school in general feel free to DM 🙂.

Is there usually waitlist movement during may? I interviewed April but got WLed.

Send me the R already, like if interview season's over, why not give me closure now instead of making me wait till July lol.

If interview season's 100% over, I might just withdraw my app here ig.

Just got the R letter, kind of wish they didn't just spam those out at the end, rather than earlier but I get it

Anyone know of any waitlist movement?
Also I have heard that for current students, if you don't match to your top choice program then OSU Medical will guarantee you a spot in their system depending on the specialty. Can any current students comment on the validity of this?

I'm not so sure that it's a guarantee as much as an "in-house preference". Historically, I think the school does try to help students out this way if they go unmatched as it's a simple solution for all parties. Obviously, this would be dependent on if a program doesn't fill all of their spots and participates in the SOAP. This is very rare for the competitive specialties at OSU. This would more likely be for primary care specialties. Fwiw, the school offers an immense amount of support for students who soap (which isn't many). Feel free to dm if you have specific questions.

a student i am tutoring for the mcat just got an ii on monday for this friday. do we know how many spots are left/how many are interviewing consdiering it is so late in the cycle?
