2024-2025 Pittsburgh

I just don't understand why there hasn't been WL movement yet! For the past 5-6 years, the latest movement began by May 2nd. Last year, they already had a second mini-wave of WL acceptances around this time!!

This is what’s making me crash out fr I hope they’re just running late as opposed to there not being much movement

honestly could be due to the power outages from the storm in pgh last week but who rly knows🤷

I will say, (working in Pittsburgh rn), power outages last week are still ongoing for some people, and the admissions site being down like Thursday wasn't just specific to the admissions site. Lots of Pitt services were down, so it was just a server issue, not a site down due to admissions tinkering with it issue.

Hopefully this is helpful my partner called admissions and they said they expect WL movement mid-May and that we will likely have 2 weeks to accept/decline

anyone have any theories or guesses on why they’re doing WL movement so late this year? do we think the class is full and they’re waiting for more people to drop or just running late this year? weird because ppl saw the glitch back in march so i would’ve assumed they already started looking at WLs for the past month

Maybe it’s the funding stuff with NIH

I wish adcom realized that we don’t have time to wait anymore, especially those with no A’s
Its amazing that this all happens this late. I think it would be beneficial to make the PTE date much earlier in the cycle. Not only would it help people who need to make accomodations to apply again, but also give accepted students more time to plan moving/their entire life.

I have an acceptance but am waitlisted at two schools i would consider better opportunities. But i dont have time to wait to make plans for moving across the country with a cat/dog/husband by july 1! Probably going to give up at the end of this week and start making real plans 😭

They seem to change waitlist timelines every so often so I wouldn't rule out the possibility that they're just spicing things up (rude af this late tho). The power outage is also a reasonable suspicion but lowkey they gotta be over that by now. Regardless, I find comfort in the GroupMe being about the same size as last year's which means they have to admit more at some point, as they've stated

Could also be cus of this (national science foundation research funding slash)

If we get off the waitlist would we expect an email or call? Or should we be checking our portal everyday ( idk if I can check everyday for my mental health )😭

CONGRATS to yall who got off WL!! Did you guys have that glitch?
Thank you! Which glitch are you referring to? I did have the one where my portal said my application was under review, and then it switched back to being on the waitlist shortly after (i.e. same timeline for others that noticed the switch). My AAMC tool was also updated to reflect an April waitlist date. Unrelated, but I did call admissions yesterday morning to inquire about waitlist timelines, and the person said they expect to give out offers "in the next week or so." I'd think more waitlist movement will come this week and next but not certain of course.

AAHHH congrats, just got an IS A off the waitlist as well!!! is your AAMC like commit to enroll thing updated yet to reflect it??
Yay congratulations!! I don’t have the CYMS tool yet, Ive heard that it updates around 6pm daily

i bit the bullet and called. they said they anticipate more WL movement but can’t say when exactly. feeling really sad about having to reapply.
Dw ik you'll get there. Took me 3 cycles (2023 wl then R pitt, 2024 wl then R hopkins) to get an A but I did it in the end
