+1 IS secondary today. Did anyone else have the issue where their CASPer was marked as not received in the RWJ portal if they took and sent their score (my other schools marked it as received so I don't think this is an issue on my Altius account. . .)?

is this essentially a diversity essay?

Is the question regarding GPA trends, course grades, and MCAT scores an optional or required question? I did not receive a super competitive score on my first mcat, but I am retaking it very soon. I wanted to know if I had to answer because if it is optional, I don't think it's in my best interest to draw attention to my first score. Any tips help!

I submitted the secondary and I selected the school to receive my CASPER score but it still says school has not received the scores. Anyone else seeing this? I haven't gotten the completion email from them either so it seems like they don't have my score or haven't updated it yet

anyone have an update on this? Because I saw it as just asking about collaboration with others in learning. I used the R in RWJ for my diversity

When they ask about being an OOS Applicant with an NJ Connection, does that mean if you previously lived in the state but moved out? Or are there other meanings involved?

I talked about my dad's family living their, having cousins attend rutgers and njms, spending summers in NJ, and shadowing at Cooperman Barnabus. So partially about living their partially about family ties to the State

Had a question for this. For the first question did you guys actually only put one experience down?

Do I have a realistic shot at this school if I'm OOS without ties to NJ? Per MSAR, they do admit a few OOS students but I'm curious if they typically have ties to NJ.

Idk if this helps, but I do know a few oos students, and none of them had previous nj ties

What role do you guys think AI is going to play in apps? I am so paranoid because I tested one of my responses and it says AI detected even though I didn't use it?

Then everyone is screwed and no one will matriculate into medical school for the class of 2029. I don't think it is worth worrying over this, clearly it effects everyone and is not worth worrying over.

Did you guys answer the "Please feel free to comment on any course grades, GPA trends, or MCAT scores and what you have learned about yourself." question. I was thrown off a little by the second part of the question. While my grades and scores are fine, I talked about studying strategies I developed to get there and how it is similar to their curriculum

They started sending them out this around this time last year didn’t they?

Silence. NJMS has had some movement so I thought here wouldn't be too far behind

I’m in the opposite boat, I heard from here and am waiting on NJMS.
I’m still pretty confused on what the difference is between the two schools they seem exactly the same to me since they’re both at Rutgers.

edit: i guess i never mentioned, IS complete 7/22, received 8/22

Same here--I'd say NJMS is more service-oriented, RWJMS is more research-oriented. Hence the initiative to combine the two

yeah I honestly am not sure either. I've heard rumblings of them merging in the coming future but who knows what the plan is. I have a friend who goes to RWJ who said they were hearing talks about that

I believe they have already voted to merge, not too sure about the inner workings

Roughly 60% for in-staters, roughly 20% for oos-ers.

If you interview in November, would you be more likely to hear back by the mid-December or mid-March acceptance release?

Dangg would they send out more invites for the same interview day or have they already given them out for this round?

Is anyone weighing the pros/cons of NJMS especially that they are no longer Pass/Fail? Idk how to feel about being in a super competitive environment with internal rankings…can anyone share info on how the current M1s feel?

I'm a current M1 at RWJMS. Can't speak for our peers at NJMS, but I can confidently say the vibes at RWJ are great (partially due to pass/fail). Internal rankings for your pre-clinical years kinda exist, but not really, because that only applies to like the top 8% of people who get Junior AOA.

haha username checks out. But thanks, all of the med students I met attending RWJMS love the school.

For people who were complete in late August/ early September have you heard anything from this school? It’s my top choice and I’m getting worried!
