Are there any merit-based scholarships offered, and if so, are there applications for them?
Last year no application was required, they were just sent to select students in the summer - like May-ish?Are there any merit-based scholarships offered, and if so, are there applications for them?
I do want to add, recently Tamu got a multi million dollar donation. Part of it will be destined to scholarships. No idea how this will affect aid just yet.Last year no application was required, they were just sent to select students in the summer - like May-ish?
If you do have a tough financial situation, I'd email them
If you have multiple offers, you could always trying leveraging. I personally was juggling a few decisions - including a very very generous scholarship from another school. I emailed A&M to see if they could inch anything for your boy but got nothing. Just wanted to add it for context - they don't give much
Yes I first saw that announcement earlier HereI do want to add, recently Tamu got a multi million dollar donation. Part of it will be destined to scholarships. No idea how this will affect aid just yet.

Have they said anything more about renaming the school, or about EnMed becoming a separate school from TAMU regular MD?
I hadn't seen any change in name on websites, web pages, and such, so I wondered if something had changed over the last few monthsYes.
The board of reagents has officially renamed the school to the Naresh K. Vashisht college of medicine since November 2024. It was said ~10 million were donated, I’ve heard more like 50 by some people.
Enmed is in the process of becoming its separate college, this will likely be finalized before next cycle.
The rebrand is scheduled to hit towards the end of this summer. As currently planned, Class of 2025 will be the final class graduating with the Texas A&M University College of Medicine name on the diploma instead of the upcoming eponym of the donor from the oil/gas and fertilizer industries. Below are several articles about the donation.I hadn't seen any change in name on websites, web pages, and such, so I wondered if something had changed over the last few months
If you don’t have any active applications pending in AMCAS (WLs or waiting on decision after interview) you don’t need to do anything in the CYMS tool.Do we need go to AAMC to select a medical school before 4/30 if we already accepted A&M in TMDSAS? If select, will affect waitlists? Thanks
