how were you able to upload in the learning experiences section? Did it have a choose file button?
 
Has anyone been able to upload? they told me they could add the one I recordfed if I filmed a short video and then they would replace it. Now I am getting an error messgae.

Im still stuck with the learning experiences tab as red.
 
Is anyone having trouble submitting their secondary? I am getting an error when I try to submit.

This is what the email said:

We have updated the video portion of the secondary application. You should now be able to record your response for the "Learning Experiences" section. If you encounter any issues recording your video, you also have the option to upload your video response under the "Document Upload" tab by selecting the "Application Form Video Response" type.

Please ensure your video:

  1. Is 30MB or smaller in file size.
  2. Is saved in .mp4 format, as this is the only format accepted by the portal.
If your video exceeds the size limit or is in a different format, we recommend using a file converter or reducer to adjust the file size and/or format. There are various free online converters and reducers available to assist with this process.

To complete your application, please check the box in the "Learning Experiences" section that states "I will upload the video response in the Document Upload Tab." This will allow you to bypass the video response page and proceed with submitting your application.

However, when I try to submit, after a few minutes, I get this error notification: Execution Timeout Expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.
So it seems like there may still be some remaining issues for some applicants.
 
Hello! Are most people writing the optional question about extenuating circumstances? The only thing I can think to write about is COVID disrupting volunteering/shadowing activities but I do not know if this is what they are looking for. Thank you for your help!

It doesnt work on the first try. On my 7th attempt, it went through. Took forever too.

Would it be appropriate to talk about being a student-athlete here and how the time commitment limited us in joining ECs or is this question more geared towards hardships, COVID and other things like that?

You could, but that wouldn't explain why you didn't fill in those gaps during winter break, spring break, summers.
Did you fill in your volunteering at those times?
Med schools don't have sports teams, you will have to be satisfied with recreational sporting going forward.
 
Any advice on actually submitting the application? My video responses have been uploaded but I can't seem to get past the submission page...it keeps loading.
 
Does anyone know if UTRGV requires LORs to be submitted before marking the app complete? I was checking my portal today and noted a green check mark next to LOR but my LOR had not been uploaded yet.

I second this advice, uploads of videos are much slower than uploads of documents.
Go make yourself some coffee while it spins and spins, come back & check on it in a bit.

Do you happen to have any ties to the RGV? I'd imagine they're reaching out first to those w/ ties, especially with how many matriculants end up being from the RGV area. In any case, its a long application season, so don't worry!

Yes, I am from the RGV. just forgot to release my new MCAT score until yesterday that I took a few weeks ago. Looking forward to hearing from them soon though. Thanks

is it MMI?
or like a panel of interviewers that ask you questions?
Or is it like a group activity with other interviewees?

We signed an NDA and are not allowed to provide any specifics. Don't stress yourself out, go in with an open mind, and you'll be more than fine my friend.

Was about to say the same thing. Don't overthink it, you're gonna do great! On a side note, does anyone happen to know the percentage of post II acceptance for UTRGV? Seems like it must be very low, compared to most other schools.

You think so? Really hope you're right. Last I heard, they interview about 700 applicants, and only have 55 spots to offer. They also have a local program that guarantees admission for a few high schoolers who do well in their undergrad years. So in reality, probably looking at ~45 seats to offer. Seems crazy to me...

The High school on-ramp is really new and their first one matriculated this year.
If you are willing to do the 2 separate interview days as well as your uploaded video it’s an indication of your interest in coming to the RGV.
