They said on interview day that they would only be pre-matching 5 seats each time, and are hoping to fill the rest of the seats on Match Day. They are changing from previous years because they no longer are rolling admissions as they could be missing out on applicants who submitted later but are better fit for their program than applicants who submitted earlier.

People who share their news on SDN represent only a small percentage of real world applicants, so we can't draw any conclusions from the timing here.
They might actually tell their family before they tell you guys here...

When did you interview? At mine they didn’t specify

I wonder what this means for remaining prematches considering tomorrow is the final day… I feel like it would be surprising for them to go into match day with <50% prematches considering their small interview pool

They interviewed quite a lot this cycle. Past cycles were 12 per interview day ramping up to 24 near the end of the cycle. This year they had 24 each interview day from the start, maybe in anticipation of losing lots in the match since they knew they wouldn’t be pre matching the whole class? Just speculating

I have not been accepted, and the EAP coordinator has not reached out to us (me at least) for anything this semester compared to last when he would regularly schedule times to meet and provide updates. For the EAP students, they set 2 specific interview dates for us to choose, and we go through the same process as other applicants. The only "difference" is that the school designates 5 seats specifically for EAP students- BUT if in the event the adcom doesn't like any of us, they are not obligated to fill those seats with us, which is understandable. Main thing with this program is that we are guaranteed interviews and MCAT prep basically.

**edit: I should say I have not heard from the coordinator for the past few months considering this semester just started, it just has felt forever since my interview lol

Interesting. I interviewed late October and went to second look day in November. They made it out like they prematch the whole class. Seems like they’re making a lot of decisions out of trepidation.

Trepidation about what? They will fill their class, there is nothing to fear. Can you explain what you meant?

Maybe the word I should’ve used is cautious. Just that a lot of the decisions they’ve made seem tentative. Just a nervous applicant who doesn’t want to uproot my life in the upcoming months. UT Tyler was my original inspiration to apply this year as a long-time East Texan.

It’s in the realm of possibility and within the TMDSAS rules
However if any of y’all get a new offer tomorrow be sure to rank it before 5 pm
 
They’re about as likely to release offers as I am to get an interview from Dell (I’m still waiting on my secondary… any minute now!)

The next 2 weeks should fly by and we’ll all end up where we’re meant to be. I have grown tired of the waiting much like many of you but we’re in the home stretch

I’m really happy that UT Tyler has so much enthusiasm here - where I’m currently at most people write the school off because of how new it is and the region. The East Texas region has a bright future in healthcare 🙂

congratulations - did you have other TMDSAS interviews? Don't forget to enter your TMDSAS rank list before 5 today if you haven't already
 
I entered it and have been double checking that it is entered, Ut Tyler is ranked 1 for me as I did not have any other interviews. I had only applied to one other school as I was just planning on getting experience and taking my MCAT again during this cycle.

Do we know for sure how many offers they sent out yesterday? Is it safe to assume they didn’t rematch the whole class?

I know at my second look day they said they had prematched around 5-15 on the first day. When asked how much would be prematched on the second day, they said it was up to the admissions committee to how many. It could be the whole class or only some.
 
Anyone have an inside scoop on how many pre-matches were sent out this year?
 
Anyone know what time we find out tomorrow? And is it sent in an email or do we need to check the tmdsas portal?

Log in to your TMDSAS portal after 8AM to see your Match results.
If you match, your school will likely send you an email some time tomorrow as well.
 
Anyone status page show UT Tyler under transcripts instead of 'Not Requested at this Time'? Mine does not show it. Just curious.

Some may show UT Tyler - Not Received there

The school listed there should be your undergraduate/graduate school, just wherever you may have a transcript from if that is what you're referring to
 
Y'all, on last year's threads people were talking about the exact same thing and there was no apparent correlation between seeing a status change and matching. Not trying to be a hater but I think it is best to hang it up for tonight and wait for 8AM to roll around. I will come sing you a lullaby personally if needed. I have golden pipes.
