I would say so. I don't have the most amount of service hours but very meaningful/leadership experiences that I was able to speak upon in my secondary responses and connect to opportunities at WSU that I hope to be involved with

lol yeah I only think Central Michigan screens your primary first before sending out a secondary! MSU also sends secondaries to everyone.

Midtown is a very nice, safe neighborhood to be in. There are lots of restaurants (such as pie sci pizza). There’s also a Whole Foods near campus and the entire neighborhood is patrolled by Wayne State police, which makes it much safer than the rest of Detroit. Scott Hall might not be the nicest building around, but It has several different spaces available to study in and there’s a nice student lounge that I never used. There is also a dedicated medical student gym at Scott Hall and several other relaxation spaces such as a meditation room and a music room.

Detroit is a major city. It has a vibrant food scene with an especially strong focus on African food and Middle Eastern food. If you’re looking for entertainment, there are several major museums available and you get free or deeply discounted access to them with your Wayne state student ID. Windsor Ontario is right next-door, they have a casino and some additional entertainment options that Detroit does not have. If you’re interested in hiking there quite a few nice state parks in the suburbs surrounding Detroit.
Like a lot of big cities, Detroit has its own share of unsafe neighborhoods. As long as you take basic safety precautions, you’ll be fine.

M3 here! Scholarly concentrations are completely optional. You will have the option to join one during M1 and M2 if you would like, but they are definitely not required.

I mean, many applicants are school. They should understand. Maybe send them an email thanking them for the invitation and that you hope to visit when availability allows.
